In the world where time is sleep

And daylight

Happens to be

Forever or never

I lay alone waiting

In the deep

My luminous bulb a teather.

Swirling up from depths abound

With bubbles

And seaweed

And sand

A creature larger than any I've never seen

All a twitter with rays of glass.

My parched throat gets drier

The stink of fish subsides

As the curtains of black

With light from its gills

I am Blinded

I am formed asunder

Like the bubbles floating by into larger

I become the oyster without a pearl

I become the crab without a shell

And I become

Once again

I sleep.
