We will never know

This is not about any event or time in particular, more of a question about our society's morals, and how we are afraid of the truth in the past we bury deep down for we don't' know or more accurately don't want to know…

We think we feel compassion,

For things in the past,

Terrible deeds –

But we don not know

Cannot ever know

We see the horrors,

"How terrible – how sad"

We say we feel sorry,

For things we've seen and done,

But we do not want to know – will never know.

The brutality, the horror,

But it's just one more page in a history book,

Faded away – forgotten once more,

The millions lost forever more,

For we will never know, never truly know.
