Third period global with Mr. Wright was both Sven's and Rory's next class. Sven was told to sit in the middle of the back row. Rory sat farthest to the left in the middle row. They were two of the first people to get there. When a big crowd of people came in, he noticed that one girl was walking straight towards him.
"Hey there, my name's Violet Yap. Nice to meet you," the brown-haired girl said flirtatiously.
"Hey, I'm Sven Norilsk," He used that stupid charming voice again.
She didn't giggle but she did flirt some more until the teacher came. Then she went to sit next to Rory. It was the first time Sven actually saw Rory happy. Violet was actually Rory's best and only friend, they were friends since the first grade. Violet was every girl's best friend and every guy's dream girl. Rory wasn't the only one in the relationship that called the other her best friend. Violet was "best friends" with many girls but Rory was truly the best. It's kind of surprising though the most popular girl in school and the one that no one notices being best friends. Besides, wouldn't Rory be noticed if she hung out with Violet? The answer is yes but who says that they hung out in school. Rory liked keeping the relationship a secret so people wouldn't remember her and her friend hesitantly agreed. Violet wanted her friend to have the best school experience but how could she if she barely had any friends? However, she still agreed and Rory was still as unnoticeable as ever.
That's when Sven got an idea. Violet was Rory's friend, right? So wouldn't she know what Rory wanted in a guy?
After class, Sven approached Violet and asked her to go out on a date with him this Saturday. She agreed happily.
"Why would you go out with that guy?" Rory asked her friend after school.
"Why not?"
"'Cause he's a cocky asshole."
Violet laughed. "Yeah but he's hot."
"But he looks at everyone like he expects them to bow to him and kiss his feet."
Violet laughed again. "You just don't like boys."
"Yes I do, just not those kinds of boys."
She laughed again but didn't say anymore about the subject.
"Love you, bye," Violet said as they reached an intersection.
"Bye," Rory replied coldly. Sure, she loved her best friend but she wasn't one to express her feelings, years of people ignoring you does that to people.
They then went their separate directions.
Rory went into her house to find it as clean as ever. Her mom was still out and her dad was probably working in the basement. So she went to her room.
At 7:00, her mom came home and they had dinner. Rory liked her mom; she taught her many life lessons. She was also a really straightforward and blunt person. Like the time Rory asked where babies come from and she explained, the entire process using scientific terms the entire time. Of course, Rory was in preschool and her mom told her not to talk about it with the other kids. Her mom also stayed out of her business, she knew that if Rory ever wanted to talk to her that she would. She was a chemist and was usually very serious unless Rory's dad was around. She always seemed so much more carefree when he was there. Her dad was actually pretty light-hearted but he could be serious. He always complained about having no sweets in the house but her mom always beat him with logic. He was an engineer. It explains why Rory is so good at math and science.
After dinner, Rory went into her room and not 30 minutes later the doorbell rang. Her dad answered it. After a few minutes, he called Rory and her mom to come to the door too. There standing in the doorway was the last person Rory wanted to see.
