On the trail

I don't need a long talk,

I just need to take a walk.

I can't stand to hear you whine;

The silence on the trail suits me just fine.

With each step my burdens seem lighter,

By the end of a mile, my day is brighter.

The fresh gentle breeze clears my mind,

Hence the peace I seek I am able to find.

There is a joy in watching the plants grow,

To see in the early morning, flowers unfold and glow

Or see the sky glow at dusk, ending another day

And stars twinkling, as the birds to roost fly away

To be with me you need not labour to ask

To match my steps beside me on the trail should be your task.
