Wearing a pair of tight fitting jeans and a black tee shirt with golden glitter paint adorning the left side of it Brenda, dragged her feet, complained to the air and finally settled down to sit on the cafeteria bench. University life was no joke. If anyone said it was easy, she'll just smash his or her face in. Biology was a subject meant to torture and bore all the students to death with its ludicrousness nonsensical details on an organism fall too small to be seen by the eye. It wasn't as if she would be able to apply this knowledge to her life As if knowing about a microscopic organism was going to bring her to success in her career. She knew better, no matter how much the lecturers fed you on how useful it was, she'll just bet they spent their free time coming up with doctrines on the usefulness of such information. It was plain and simple, balderdash.

Contemplating the food sold, she picked the mushroom soup with soft bread. Settled comfortably with the tray positioned in front of her, she prepared to dip the bread in when the approach of a rambunctious group of men momentarily distracted her. She immediately recognized Kelvin, the drop-dead gorgeous hunk all the women in the school were after in the middle of the gang. The words flashed into her head. Not interested. She chewed contemplatively on the bread even as the hackles rose on her neck. It was clear that they were headed for her and she smelt trouble. Still she didn't move. What for? She didn't want to waste her energy just to avoid them.

Kelvin stopped in front of her his gray eyes burning into hers. She saw the lust in them and was tempted to look away, but she knew better than to do so. To look away was to be afraid, and she wasn't.

Feigning boredom she questioned her, "Yes?"

"Hey, pretty. I was wondering if you'd like to…" He paused and flashed her a devastatingly handsome smile.

'Like to go out with you?" she finished. Yes, she knew his famous quote even as she knew what his favorite trick was. She could never resists playing with fire. Nor could she ever turn down the opportunity for a good fight.

As expected the boys around Kelvin laughed.

One of them hooted to Kelvin. "Hey, she thinks she's good enough for you. Faints, she doesn't even look fit to be your maid!" He leaned forward and spat into the bowl of her mushroom soup.

Brenda rolled her head nonchalantly back and she pushed her chair backwards. "That was a very stupid mistake on your part,' she told him coolly.

"What are you going to do? Fight me?" He leered.

"You want a handicap?" she asked mildly. She tapped her fingers on the tabletop. "Hmm, lets say, a five second head start to run away?"

"Do I look as if I need a handicap?" He swaggered up to her, his face a mere inches away from her. "I don't need to fight you, all I need to do is step on your toe and you'll probably run home to mommy for help." Using his second finger he prodded her in the chest and turned away to dismiss her.

Brenda felt the red-hot anger surge through her body, setting her veins on fire. "Coward. Nothing but a fucking coward."

His head snapped back and he turned around and charged for her at the same time roaring, "What did you call me!" His friends tried to grab him to hold him back but he broke lose.

Somewhere in her mind, she dimly noted that the gang wasn't out for fights but were merely having a little fun at the expense of someone. They picked the wrong person, the wrong time and place.

Her arm moved automatically into a swift sweeping circle. She blocked his punch, grabbed his hand and nearly shifted into a stance that will automatically break his hand when a woman's shout broke through.

"Don't! Brenda! Noo…"

She shook her head to clear the haze of anger and dropped the man's hand even as she looked over his head to meet Azura's vivid green eyes that were distinctly sharp though she was standing quite a few ways off.

The man yowled, and like the coward he was, started whining and complaining immediately.

Brenda couldn't take it, she just had to do it. She dragged the man by his shirt. The man immediately stopped rubbing his injured hand and look into her eyes. Her intent to injure him was evidently clear in her eyes because his friends made a move to stop her. Her attention flickered to then and the warning look in her eyes along with the soft "Don't" stopped them.

"Brenda, don't do it. You've got to let this rage back into you. He just isn't worth it, " the calm musical voice of Azura, soothed her and give her cause to rethink.

"Yeah, you're right. He's scum. Not worth my time," she released his shirt and he slumped to the floor.

His gang immediately helped him up and backed away quickly.

Azura moved forward and gripped Brenda by the arm even as her questioning green eye's probed the sky blue one's of Brenda's. "You're okay, right. You shouldn't get so mad at him that easily. You could have easily broken his arm in those mad rages of yours, " she chided.

"Yeah. Well I didn't. Thanks," she muttered shortly.

"Oh, Brenda." She wrapped her arms around Brenda's neck and kissed her softly on her lips.

The smooth, tranquil effect Azura had on her set in and she responded by kissing back. Their lips parted for a second before meeting again. They hung there for a minute their lips joined, bodies twined together. The outpouring emotion of love and security swept over Brenda chilling her bones at such a deep emotion. But the warmth in the aftermath brought a sedate feeling of comfort.
