Welcome to a story of action and fantasy...okay a guy fights a monkey, it's funny right? Enjoy!
Hoji-Maru is a lone warrior who walks the world aimlessly with no purpose, except to find work and get paid.
He walks on the ground, the dirt rising as his feet touch it. The white kimono he wears getting ever dirty. As he walks he thinks about his past. About how years ago he was once a respected samurai warrior for Emperor Tanaka; Hoji-Maru was the elite warrior, the best that there has ever been. Hundreds have fallen to his blade in battle. Then when he had failed to rescue the emperor he was relieved from his responsibilities. Now here he walks approaching the next town hoping that there would be work for him.
The light was blinding Hoji-Maru as it came out of nowhere. The samurai could see nothing, at least until it disappeared. Once that happened he noticed that he was now on some kind of tiny island surrounded by water.
"What manner of sorcery is this?" Hoji-Maru was bewildered.
It did not make sense to him that he could just end up from one place to the middle of nowhere in less than a few seconds. But as he looked around he came to realize that there were concrete steps leading to some kind of door. Maybe it would reveal a way out the place in which he stood. So as he walked and against the deep sand he placed one foot on the step. However, to his surprise a figure silhouetted by the blazing sun leaped over Hoji-Maru.
It was short with long thin arms, two short legs, brown fur, and a tail. Hoji-Maru was now facing down a monkey.
"I'm Kazuma." It spoke a cracking high voice.
Hoji-Maru was in shock, "You can talk."
"I taught my self to talk," the monkey chuckled before pulling out a weapon that was a Toledo Salamanca Broadsword and asked, "Want to fight?"
"Not in particular," the samurai replied bluntly, "I would much rather go back to where I came from."
Kazuma pointed at the samurai and mentioned the only way to leave is to defeat him in a contest of swordsman ship. Of course Hoji-Maru declined again but this time the monkey leaped and swung first cutting a line in Hoji-Maru's kimono.
The samurai knew he had no other alternative so he crouched down and placed his hand on the hilt of his katana. After several seconds of waiting he swung back this time clashing blades with the monkey. But that didn't stop Hoji-Maru from punching the little creature.
"That's not swordsman ship." Kazuma was angry striking even harder and faster than before.
Hoji-Maru blocked all upcoming attack and gracefully swung cutting some fur off giving the monkey a cut. But Kazuma easily returned the favor by scarring Hoji-Maru in the eye. A straight line of blood trickled down the samurai's right eye.
Hoji-Maru knew that this monkey was better than he had let on. So he decided to end this battle. Hoji-Maru leaped over the monkey and the two became deadlocked. The blades began creating sparks as both pushed with all of their might. In the end of the dead lock Hoji-Maru was able to push the monkey back, but Kazuma brought his blade high over his head and swung. Hoji-Maru predicted this though and sidestepped swinging his katana. The battle quickly ceased after the strike. Bothe stood for several seconds before Hoji-Maru placed his blade back into its sheath. Kazuma however, as he turned his head fell off and rolled almost into the water.
The samurai was then surrounded by a white light once more, only this time when he reopened he was back on the road he once was on. "I have returned." He was thankful. Just then a sound rustled from all around him in which case he unsheathed his blade. Suddenly surrounding him were thousands of monkeys, each one carrying a Toledo Salamanca Broadsword.
"Bring it on." Hoji-Maru ran straight for them into his greatest battle.
