The sound a children chattering could be heard throughout the school. The halls were filled with them at the early hour of the morning, before school officially started. All of them were catching up from the day before, on yesterday's gossip mill. There were always a lot of gossip topics to be talked of in a school, but on this particular day, Amberforge High had a very juicy gossip subject. The subject being about a particular new boy who had just entered the school. Everyone thought that he was a prince in disguise.
The boy in particular, went by the name of Daniel Bradley. He had sharp aristocratic features that shouted out, royalty! to everyone. His eyes were a rare blue grey. It was the color of the sky when it was just about to rain and so bright with emotions the girls could drown in them. His hair was a very rare black. It was one of the truest black that could be found on the head of hair with a lock of silver hair on his bangs. And it was always in a braid as long as his waist.
Added to all this, the clothing he wore were the absolute envy of all the fashion enthusiasts of the school. Always, a long sleeved silk shirt and pants tailored to his body. And he always wore an earing on his right ear.
On this particular day, the boy in question had yet to show his face to school. He always came on time. But only just. And he had a group of friends that had entered the school at the same time as he did. The gossip mill rang that they were more his bodyguards than friends at all. They were always watching their surroundings and looking at the other students in suspicion.
Daniel Bradley came. In a chauffer driven limousine with his pose of friends. And just like that, all the chatter stopped to stare at him. He gave a leveled stare back at everyone. Everyone could tell that he was used to handling attention given to him. And he could choose to use it to his advantage or not. This time however, he did not use it to his advantage. He merely broke eye contact with everyone and went to class.

In class, Daniel and his friend already had their material out on the desks, all in a neat order. It was like watching an eerie horror movie to the other students. The bell rang a second after the last one was done arranging their things on the desk. The professor walked in and class started.

Later that day, Daniel and his 'friend' walked home. As was usual at a school, there were throngs of student outside the school, exchanging last minute gossip and other things.
"Daniel," one of the male students who wore earrings on both his ears within his pose said for the first time that they had attended the school.
"What?" was his only answer from Daniel.
"We have to be somewhere," the male student with silky chocolate brown hair said in a warning tone.
"I'm waiting for my friend," Daniel said. "I haven't caught sight of him at all this first week of school. And he told me that he would be going here."
"Well, I'm sure that you two will meet eventually. But if you don't get back before your Father's done with his meeting, you know he will cause a stir," the purple haired female said in a no-nonsense tone of voice.
"I'm waiting," Daniel said in a dangerous growl. "You can all go back and tell Father that I'm late. I'm not moving from this spot until I meet him or if not that, until I have satisfied myself that I have seen everyone for the day."
His pose glanced at one another, giving lifted eyebrows at each other in a silent communication that only they knew about. They knew him in this mood. He would not stir from his place until he was ready to go. As one, they turned outward from the circle around him into a guard position.
He was their prince going incognito to Amberforge High. Even incognito, there could be enemies. And if he had even a centimeter of skin scratched by persons unknown, the king - his father - would have their hide for clothing.
So Daniel waited for his childhood friend at the front entrance of the school, ignoring the groups of people other than his immediate group of friends waiting around to watch what would happen in the likelihood that his childhood friend would come.
He did not have long to wait. The young man in question came out of the double doors soon after the conversation took place. He halted as he caught sight of Daniel and stared at the aristocratic features.
"Wow," was all that came out of his mouth, a grin quirking up. "You really came. You said you would, but I didn't believe you at all. I didn't think that your Father would have let you come at all. You're his precious son after all. One musn't scratch a hair on your hide."
Daniel let his guard down enough to smile in front of everyone. He was amused and there was not a lot that he was easily amused by.
"Father listens to me," Daniel told him pleasantly. "Besides, I have him wrapped around me finger. Why would I not be able to convince him to let me in here?"
"True," his childhood friend said. "Come, let us walk home."
As one, Daniel's bodyguards heaved sighs of relief. "We must hurry. Or someone will definitely be banned from coming to school," the dark haired on said.
"Come on, Lucian," Daniel said to his friend. "I'm sure you remember the way."
Lucian smirked mischeviously. "I can still keep up. Lead on."
They left.
