A Time of Cleansing

Drip drop, pitter patter

Cloudy skies crying on the world

Sun is gone, not wanting to see the world

When the sad rain pours down

But it is not sad

It is anything but misery

It's a blessing, a cleansing

A chance for the land to bathe

The wind quickly dries

The now soaked ground

Unaware of how much it's loved

A girl stands in this world

Looking up at the sky

Why are you sad?

She yells concerned

But the clouds do not answer

Sad now, she turns away

Boom flash, boom, boom flash

Startled now

She jumps away to a tree, soaked to the bone

Her mother comes

Why are you sad?

She asks the girl

I am not sad

I am happy because, like the Earth,

I am now clean.
