Battle of ...
Insanity,
Raindrops falling on my face,
Watch your puppet fall from grace.
Does the mirror lie,
Or am I the reflection you truly despise?
A fragment of the broken glass
In a house that could not last.
The moment of pause before realization,
A second's break after complete dictation;
Angst seeps in through the cracks.
What is the cost of being a man?
Do you have to watch the sufferings by your own hand?
Is happiness worth such a beastly bargain:
To lose a friend for a never-to-be-lover?
Tears build up deep inside;
Pain that so desperately cannot hide.
A glimmer of feeling through eyes that cry,
What do you seek?
Why should you lie?
There is a price that you must pay
For leaving them out on your rainy days.
Seek a friend and lose yourself;
Build a wall to keep the secrets in,
You kill your friendship by not telling them.
Two girls buried inside;
One crying,
One living a lie.
They both beg to be let out alone,
So who can you choose to keep in the cold?
She cries for mercy,
Redemption,
Then curls into a ball and forgets her intention,
The other overshadows and surfaces here,
On your face, your tongue, your heart,
You ignore your truths to enforce your lies,
Hopeful that your friends won't cry,
Maybe you'll find more soon,
But they'll never know when they assume.
You keep them on assumption and truth,
Only barely letting that little girl out,
Her screams echo your darkness for them to hear,
No matter how clean or uncouth.
They beg you,
" Tell me what's wrong,"
In that way that tears you apart,
Wounding you for keeping this from them.
" Nothing,"
Comes your reply,
Another day,
Another lie.
She twists on the floor covered by blood,
Her fatal wounds made by your comments.
Goodbye little girl,
Your death comes swift,
May another last longer than you,
For before you depart I must say,
At least I see you.
