Beautiful faces surround us
They're always on magazines
Gracing the shiny pages
Showing us what to be
Are we influenced by what they are?
Yes, most indeed
But is it a bad thing
To want to look pretty?
I don't want to be fat
I don't want to be ugly
And if those pretty faces
Encourage me to see
I welcome the glossy pages
With wide open arms
Maybe they're telling me who to be
But that's better than being me
If the faces are ugly and fat
I don't see the point
Why not see something we want?
Rather than something we can do walking down the street
If we have to be fat and ugly
That would make me rather depressed
To know there's no improvement
What would be the point of getting dressed?
Beauty does surround us
And while that beauty is there
Let's show us what we can be
Rather than what we are
