Death Is Always Near: A Fight

Keiyo stepped out onto the battlefield a unique being to appear for out of all the participants he was the only one that did not fear death. Not because he thought, none of the others could kill him because some of them certainly did have the power and skill necessary to do it. It all came down to one fact. Keiyo could not die. Ok technically he could he just didn't stay dead. It was a rare condition and he knew that quite well.

In fact, he used it to his advantage in situations like this fight. As Keiyo punched and kicked his way through his enemies, he realized he was distracted and there was no way of focusing back on the fight.

The same topic always distracted him, death. Despite the fact that being dead wasn't a lasting state for him, Keiyo often found himself thinking about it. It was probably because death was always near him, whether he was the cause of death or just dying himself.

At that, one of his more skilled opponents managed to sneak up behind him slitting his throat. Keiyo collapsed to the ground and gurgled a bit before going still. He had died again. It was never permanent though and within minutes he was sitting up again the skin at his throat unmarred as if it had never been cut. Keiyo still put a hand to his throat and messaged. He hated getting his throat slit it always left him raw.

Seated there on the ground amid a pool of his own blood Keiyo couldn't help but wonder whether he was just not as careful with his physical well being as a person who only gets to die once or was it just death constantly trying to claim him. Keiyo just shrugged it didn't really matter did it.
