Chapter Ten

I shot up in a pile of ruble. Three blurs hovered above my body. God damn – why is it so bright? Everything being all overexposed and blurry. The blurs started muttering my name. If only I could see them. That is what is horrible about waking up in a situation like this. The people know you, and you are pretty sure you know the people as well, but you most certainly cannot see them. The confusion. One word descriptive adjective to waking up after dying – terrifying.

A vague solid mist snakes across my face and my cheek is instantly aflame. I jolt upright – gasping for air. One of the blurs throws their arms around me and I am flattened against the perfectly sculpted chest of a male. I can literally feel this mans abdomen muscles through our shirts. He must have been chiseled by the Gods themselves.

My neck hurts – bad. I can feel the bruises. Like Bob's hand is still pressed firmly against the skin. And my chest – holy shit. I can still feel where his arm ripped through. God – it doesn't hurt. Just…aches. A dull throbbing that won't do anything but keep my focus directed towards it.

I begin to make out words as the light softens. The blurs are speaking my language. Along with many of what I believe to be foul words I hear table, hover, proximity and kissing. What? Suddenly I am pulled away from the chiseled chest – sadly – and a white lab coat is shoved in my face. The black lettering that is inches in front of my face reads 'ACE DAVIS PH.D'. The fog blocking my view of the world dissipates.

Caitlyn and the mean guy. What is his name? SHIT! Ummm…I don't know. Dennis? David? Daniel? Donny? DYLAN! That's it! Ok. They are here. Where is here? Didn't I just die?

Ace: Take it easy Ty. You just fell thirty feet. You just need to breath.

No. I need to figure out what the fuck is happening. Where am I? What's going on? I shoot my head to the side – and I instantly regret it. I feel the bruises burn into my nervous system. But – I can't identify what this feeling is. I – I feel like something is crawling. Under my skin. I can feel something. I know it's there. It starts at the bruises, but the instant I turn my neck I feel dozens of things wriggling down from them and into the rest of my body.

I can feel my face contort into disgust at the feeling of something crawling under my skin. It is so – disturbing. To feel something moving. To feel it there. Under your skin. It wants you to know it is there. Begs for you to feel it. To react to its presence.

I can feel them. Moving across my abdomen. Down my arm. Across my heel. Into my scalp. Everywhere. And all I want to do is dig them out. Make this feeling go away. Get them out of my body. My nails scratched at my skin desperately.

Ty: He put them in me. What did he put in me? What has he done?

Confused looks graced my eyes the words escaped my lips.

Caitlyn: Ty. You just need to…

Ty: DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! You can't feel them! Snaking through you! I know they're there! They WANT me to know they are there! We have to GET THEM OUT!

Josh: There is nothing in…

Ty: BOB PUT THEM IN ME! YOU WERE THERE! WHY DON'T YOU REMEMBER!?

Ace's face drained of all color. His eyes widened and his breathing hitched. He is who I should be talking to.

Ty: WHAT IS KANCER ACE?! WHO IS BOB? WHAT DID HE DO TOO ME!

Ace: Ty…

I couldn't contain my emotion.

Ty: TELL ME!

The windows at the far end of the room shattered as I felt one of the things snake across my face. Glass flew inward at us as I shrieked the words. But no ones eyes left me. There were a few shocked gasps as it snaked up into my scalp. A tear streamed down my tear stained face.

Caitlyn stared in horror and Dylan turned away from me. Josh's hand shot up to his mouth as he muttered something. Ace looked directly at me and sighed.

Ty: You saw it – didn't you? They're there – aren't they!

No one answered. Dylan still wouldn't look at me, and now Caitlyn was the same. The floor was suddenly very interesting. Ace continued to stare as Josh scooted closed and wrapped me in his arms.

Ty: Dylan – look at me. Please Dylan. Why won't he look at me?

I sobbed into Josh's shirt as Ace stood up. He walked across the room as Josh whispered in my ear. "Everything's fine" and "You're ok."

Ty: Why do you keep telling me I'm ok? Stop telling me I'm ok! I'm not ok!

Just then Ace returned with a scalpel.

Ace: We have to get them out.

Josh: Wait – what?

Ace: We have to cut them out. Otherwise we won't last through the night.

Caitlyn: We?

Ace: Kancer tagged him. They used Bob's Reality and tagged Ty. Now they are tracking his signal. If we don't get them out in the next twenty minutes they will have out location and be here before nightfall.

Dylan: Bob's Reality?

Ace: I don't have time to explain. Caitlyn – go get towels from one of the dorms. Dylan – go get Ty some alcohol. Josh - hold Ty.

Caitlyn and Dylan ran to the shattered windows. As soon as a bird flew by Caitlyn jumped out the window and was thrust into the bird's body. Dylan did the same seconds later. Josh's arms wrapped protectively around me.

Ace: I need you to take off your clothes. You can leave your underwear on, but I need to be able to see everywhere. Can you feel how many there are?

Ty: Ten. One for each finger.

I lifted my shirt over my head and looked down at my chest. There was one wiggling around above my bellybutton. Like a worm in mud.

Ty: Don't wait for the alcohol. Just get it out of me.

He barely waited for me to finish the sentence before the frigid blade pressed smoothly against my skin. I screamed as he traced a small line above the disgusting thing.

Ace: You may want to close your eyes.

I thought for a moment. Do I want to close my eyes? No. I want to see the disgusting thing worming itself throughout my body.

Ty: No. I want to see.

His fingers entered in through the opened skin. Soon his hand was up to its knuckles in my abdomen. Tears poured from my eyes as blood gushed from my stomach. His fingers enclosed around the intruder and it began to jerk violently under my skin. He ripped his hand from my stomach and clutched in his hand was a wire. It looked like a worm, or ivy. I felt my skin seal itself back up as I flipped over.

He removed three from my back before Dylan returned with Skyy Vodka. I chugged a fourth of the bottle before Ace removed another from my shoulder blade. Josh removed my pants – I had already drunk another fourth of the bottle – and Ace got to work on my right leg. We removed two worms out of my thigh and one out of the ball of my foot before we moved on to the final two.

The bottle was empty by the time we finished removing and destroying the disgusting things. Caitlyn returned with four large bath towels soon after. Josh held me as they cleaned up. Who would think someone bleeds a lot when they're cut open. Strange huh?

Dylan: Damn man – you bled like a stuck pig!

Ace: His body generated more red blood cells as a defense mechanism against the trackers.

I began to laugh uncontrollably. Blood generators! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What the fuck is that? I think Ace should learn English.

Ace: And I think you are drunk.

Ty: AM noot! Mmm TOTALLLYY sobeerrr mann!

Wait. I totally said that in my head.

Ace: I can read your thoughts.

Ty: NOO FUUCKIN WAAYY MANN! Tha zzz raaadical. I wiz I coul do hat.

Ace: I rest my case.

Caitlyn: Shit he's hammered.

Dylan: He did finish the entire damn bottle himself.

Ty: HEYY! Heyy mann!

I worked my way out of Josh's grasp and proceeded to poke and tickle Dylan.

Ty: Youze may me zound lie some kina DRUK!

He slapped my hands away playfully and Josh pulled me back into his lap.

Ty: MINDREADER! Tell Misser Meaty-Weeny ova ther that I sir, am noooooooo DRUK!

Upon the sentence replaying in my mind I giggled a giggle you would expect from a nervous school girl being asked to the school dance. I hid my face in my hand and everything.

Ty: I mean ta say Meaty-Weeny. NO! Darn it. I mean MEANY-WEENY! Goshness. Words are so trickly-pickly sometimes!

Josh: Ok. I think that is our queue to leave.

Ty: NOOOOO! Don't cha wanna stayy?

Josh: Not so you can embarrass yourself.

Ty: But I wanna stay! Ace – you wants me to say rie?

I walked my skantily clad body over and stroked the middle-aged mans face gently. God I hope he wants me to stay. Him and Dylan both. I don't wanna go. He leaned into my hand and brought his to cover mine.

Ace: More than anything.

I could practically feel the heat radiating off his body. The way he lusted for me. The way he felt against my practically naked body. His hands through my hair. His lips in the crook where my shoulder meets my neck. Suddenly there was a pair of hands on my shoulders and lips against the back of my neck leading small butterfly kisses from my spinal cord to my earlobe.

Dylan: I want you to stay to. I never want you to leave.

I was instantly sober. Although it took me a second to understand the reaction Ace and Dylan were having to me. I wanted them to want me there. I wanted them to want me. So they did. I stepped away from them and my back bumped into Josh.

Ty: Josh. I controlled them. I wanted them to want me to stay.

Their glazed over eyes returned to normal as they looked around, bewildered.

Josh: Ty just discovered another one of his abilities. Apparently mind control is one of his many talents.

Caitlyn: We haven't seen much from you Josh.

Josh: I know. I don't even know what I can do.

Ty: I know what you can do.

Everyone looked towards me. I instantly felt like I was in that naked dream where you're in front of the class in your underwear. Yea.

Ace: And how exactly do you know that?

Ty: When I was fighting the redneck, he was frightened and crying. As soon as he started crying, the clouds started rolling in and the thunder and lightning started. Then later, when the redneck tried to kill us he moved the ground beneath the rednecks truck so he would miss us.

Dylan: The redneck?

Ty: Yea. Oh right, that wasn't in reality.

Ace: Bob's reality is our reality. It's a continuation of time based on a choice we make. What exactly happened?

I slid myself back into my pants as I sat down and explained, in vivid detail, exactly what happened. From scaring the crap out of the redneck, to Bob's hand plunging through my abdomen.

Ace: See, Bob worked off the decision that you decided to leave immediately. What happened was one possible reality. But by doing that, that reality is no longer a possibility.

Dylan: Yea. Sure. Ok. I'll pretend I understood that.

Caitlyn: Fo real!

Josh: So, what is Kancer?

Ace: Kancer? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Kancer is a whole nother story man.

A.N:

I know.
This update took FOREVER.
I had a few different versions of this chapter.
Three - to be exact.
They all went in RADICALLY different directions.
I finally decided on this one.
It leads te story to a better place.

Ok Kiddies!
Who is ready to know what Kancer is?
Who is ready for home invasions?
Who is ready to meet Bob again?
Who still reads my story?

That last answer would be like...no one.
lol

Oh Well...
