Our breath spins skyward into the night air
To bargain with the heavens for more time.
We want them to immortalize us there,
A monument to such a love sublime
Or perfect moments. Neither is a lie,
But really, all we want is to remain
With fingers interlocked, until the sky
Comes crashing down. We seek no other gain,
But anything will leave our lips so that
Eternity is ours. We wait upon
The stars to twinkle a reply, begat
Our fate before the fleeting time is gone.
No matter what the shining stars will say,
We will hang on to love another day.
