if time were to stop

every clock were to drop

would the moon turn around

would the sea run aground

would the fish learn to fly

and take over the sky

and the birds and the bees

cease to nest in the trees

but move down to the earth

where they'd thrive and give birth

to tomorrow's good creatures

with well-evolved features

they'd be better than people

without church and steeple

there'd be no contestation

they would make compensation

for all human's wrongs

it would take pretty long

but I don't really care

because they won't be there

'cause if time were to stop

every clock were to drop

the world would just melt

'cause there'd be nothing else

'...without church and steeple...' here I mean no offense to religious people. The next phrase, '...there'd be no contestation...' continues it, pointing out that it's meant to illustrate that religion tends to cause controversy. Really, if I could have found a better rhyme for 'people' I would have used it.

Microsuede Mouse.
