WARNING: This story is rated M for a reason. It contains lots of cursing and mature themes like cutting and suicide. There will also be some sex later on, although it might not be THAT graphic, but it's still sex and people seem to get easily offended by sexual content. So leaving any reviews like, 'I like your story, but can you not curse so much?' will just piss me off. Okay, thank you and please review and give me some feedback! Have a great day!
Cigarettes and Gasoline
Prologue
Alex Bennington was angry. It wasn't unusual for him to be angry. And, for the most part, he had pretty good reasons to be angry. Or so he thought.
"Alex, Sweetie, we're so sorry," the woman, now his ex-foster mother, said. Tears were streaming down her face and as she wiped her eyes, mascara smudged everywhere. She didn't seem to care.
He didn't say anything; he rarely said anything. He found that staring at people was much more effective than screaming at them. Staring scared them much more.
"Say something," she pleaded. "Anything, Alex."
This was the first foster-home where Alex had sort of felt at home. But of course, like every other good thing in his life, it was being taken away from him.
"What do you want me to say?" he finally said softly. He found himself too exhausted to be angry. "That I'll be okay? That I love you? That I'm perfectly okay with being thrown out of yet another house?"
"Son-" Peter Rogers knew it was a mistake as soon as it was out of his mouth.
"Son?" Alex practically screamed. "You have no right to call me your son."
And with that, Alex climbed into the back seat of the cab, leaving his crying ex-foster mother gripping on to the top of her husband's shirt tightly.
The cab disappeared into the traffic within a minute and suddenly Leanne Rogers lost the ability to use her legs. She fell onto her husband who struggled to keep her standing upright.
"Shh…He'll be okay," Peter Rogers soothed his wife.
But they both knew damn well that Alex wouldn't be okay.
Authors Note: I know, I know. I'm staring a new story. But I've written like 5 chapters of this story already and I'm really excited about it. I know the prologue isn't particularly exciting, but I think it gives you an introduction to one of the main characters, so please review and…that's all!
