Ehh... Shorter than the first part. Just Honey's... Uh, 'revenge'.
"Oi, loverboy," I said, sticking my head through our bedroom door, "I'm going to Honey's, wanna come?"
Jake hopped up from the bed. "'Course I do," He said with a grin. I chuckled at his eagerness. They'd only been going out a month... Though they had been mutually crushing on each other for nine years.
As we walked toward her house, I thought about what would happen when we got there. It would no doubt be the same as every time we've gone over since I got them together: Honey's mom would open the door, laugh at our goofy yes-we-are-here-again grins, and let us into the house. Then her dad would glance up from whatever book he was reading in his chair in the den and wave, and then we'd go up to Honey's room, where she would proceed to greet each of us happily with a hug. Then we'd have a good time playing card games or something, during which time I would at some point discreetly sneak out so they can suddenly realize I'm no longer there, sit around awkwardly for a few minutes, and then be mushy.
I don't really mind leaving so much, for two reasons: firstly, I love them together as much as I love all my favourite fanfiction pairings; and secondly, because I got to hang out with her sixteen-year-old brother Jason, whom I may sort of have had a minor great big huge crush on since I was nine. He was pretty cool though – his room is full of beanbag chairs and band posters and I swear he has every CD that ever existed. He plays trumpet, guitar, drums, and keyboard, and has a pretty good singing voice too. Basically we sit in there and listen to or talk about music.
Plus, he's adorable. His hair is chocolate brown and shiny and always a little bit messy. He's half a head taller than me, and when he looks into my eyes – lord above, I could just melt. His eyes are emerald green, and I swear they fill up my entire field of sight when I look at them. He also seems to be perpetually dressed in baggy jeans and hoodies, both of which are items of clothing I wear all the time (and I believe I mentioned that my brother and I dress similarly, so now you know he wears hoodies and jeans too).
"Earth to Signy," Jake said, knocking on my head. "We are approaching Honey's house, we need you to return from your Jason fantasies." I had actually told him about my crush when it started, unlike him.
"How'd you-"
"You get this foggy look across your eyes and the rest of your face goes blank," He explained. I grinned at him.
"Kinda like you when you're thinking about Honey."
"I dunno, you tell me." He said with a chuckle. "I can't see my own face."
At this point, we arrived outside of Honey's place. As I predicted, her mom opened the door, laughed, and let us in; her dad looked up from a book long enough to wave; and she herself greeted up each with a hug. We even ended up playing card games. I snuck away after losing a game of War and wandered into the hall. I knocked on Jason's bedroom door, he opened it, and – was it just me, or did his eyes light up when he saw me?
Wordlessly, he grabbed my shoulders and kissed me. After only an instant, he pulled away and looked at me apologetically. Scratching the back of his head, he asked, "I'm... Sorry, was that... Too forward?"
I grinned, but I think I may have stared at him for a moment first... I'm not sure, precisely. "No."
He grinned back. "That's awesome. See, I've kind of liked you since I was ten-"
"No way. That's completely, utterly, ridiculously impossible. There was a year's difference between when Jake started liking Honey and when she started liking him. But the same year? No way."
Now he looked confused. "...Eh?"
"I started liking you when I was nine. We started liking each other the same year."
Jason grinned again. "Not to mention it's also preposterously clichéd, with our siblings being together and us being-" suddenly he hesitated, unsure of exactly what we were.
"Together," I confirmed with a nod. He beamed so brightly it could've lit up a room. I realized something just then- "What made you kiss me?"
In answer, I got a giggle from behind. Honey and Jake were watching us from her bedroom door, the latter of the two grinning just a little smugly. In different circumstances, I prob'ly would've punched him in the arm.
"You told him!" I accused Honey. "And I thought you were the better secret-keeper of us! At least I never outright told Jake!"
"It's not like it did any harm, though, right?" Honey pointed out, defending herself. "Besides, I seem to remember you once telling me, 'I wish one day he would just see me and suddenly realize he loved me... And then he'd kiss me and we'd live happily ever after!'"
I felt the blood rush to my face. I glanced at Jason, who was grinning like an idiot by that point. "I was ten," I defended weakly.
"Ah, it's okay," He said. He put an arm around my waist and tugged me against his side. "I've wanted to do that for a long time. Besides," he added sheepishly, "I've had some of my own doofus-y fantasies, y'know."
Honey and Jake went back into Honey's room, and Jason and I went into Jason's room. Honey got back at me, but I can't say I really mind.
If parts of it seemed abrupt, that was on purpose. If anyone really wants, I guess I could write more of these four... Please review, but please no constructive criticism or flames. Thanks for reading, have a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/day/night!
