Silver Magic
Prologue
The war had been going on for as long as I could remember. I lived in these dark ages and fully believed I would die before the war was even half over. But that's not how my path was meant to be.
The winds change the way of each individual's path and blinds the truth from all, for the wind has seen all; the past to the present. The wind changes so many different times that to count would be impossible, and yet, it's as old as the earth itself.
I suppose it was the tale of many winds as new as a baby but as old as the earth that led me to make my decision. Of course, it wasn't the only thing but it still comes down to that story of which every mother tells her infant child. The stories are different for every mother who tells but yet, like the wind, it shares its truths as still as a whisper.
Ever changing and yet the same, the wind quietly led me to a destination where misgiving thoughts were no longer to be abided and no way to look back. Back at what used to be, what never would be again, and only towards the future, towards the unknown and a life that had only been told of through words of poetry and song. One that I had thought I had known so well but soon found that the similarities of both lives were not but a sliver, or a dream.
