Boy

I felt a throbbing pain, but where I couldn't tell. Blue orb eyes continued to stare at me.

I then heard the voice say, "Wake up, darling."

It sounded like Daniel.

Daniel: I thought: Why? Why'd you do it?

"Wake up please. I want you to wake up," the voice then sounded that of a woman's.

But I don't want to: I told the voice: I don't want to.

"Please, honey," I heard a man's voice and it sounded like he was crying, "I can't lose you."

Ok….: I thought.

I then began to open my eyes up slowly. I heard sobs, and I felt something hurting my head.

I turned to see my mother laying her head by my side, her face dug into the bed, and I could hear her sobs.

I looked and saw my father, his fist on the wall, and I heard him sob too.

"M-mom?" I asked my voice very hoarse, "D-dad?"

I saw them both look at me.

"K-Katelyn?" they said in unison.

I was then embraced by both of their arms.

"Oh, Katelyn," my mother said, "You're alright!"

I looked around the room, and asked, "W-where am I?"

They released me and looked at me.

My father said, "You're in the hospital, Katie."

I tried to move, but something pulled on my arm. I looked and saw a needle in my arm. I freaked out.

"W-what is that?!" I screamed.

I heard a very weak laugh.

My father looked at me, a small smile on his face.

"It's ok, Katelyn," he said, "It's nothing."

I looked at him, giving him a 'does this look like its nothing?' look.

He chuckled slightly, the tears in his eyes dying down.

I looked around the room and asked, "Why am I here?"

I then remembered. I frowned and said, "Oh yeah."

"Katelyn…," my mother said, the tears leaking from her face.

I looked at her and smiled.

"I'm fine, Mom, really," I lied.

I was hurting a lot in my stomach, and on my face.

I looked up at the ceiling and saw my reflection. I didn't look too bad.

"Katelyn? Is she awake?" I heard a new voice ask.

I shot my attention to the door and saw the blonde haired man who saved me.

I looked at him and smiled.

"Yep," I said.

He smiled and walked in, closing the door.

"Emanuel," my mother said, "We can't thank you enough."

He shook his head, saying, "No thanks are necessary. I did what anyone should have done."

Should have, but probably wouldn't: I thought.

"Katelyn," my father said more seriously, "Can you tell us who did this to you? Did you see their faces?"

All eyes were on me.

I opened my mouth, and said, "I- no…I didn't see."

He stared at me and asked, "Are you sure? They didn't threaten to kill you if you told?"

I shook my head, and looked down, clutching the bed sheets.

Tears forming I said, "No…no they didn't."

"Katelyn," Emanuel said.

I looked up at him.

He said, "You were saying 'Daniel' when the ambulance took you here. Wasn't anybody like that, was there?"

My parents looked at me, shocked. Their looks asked 'Your friend Daniel?'

I shook my head, saying, "No. I was just having some hallucinations of him." I smiled and said, "Loss of blood can do that to you."

They all smiled weakly.

"Emanuel..," my father said looking at him, "We would like to speak to you. Alone for a minute."

He nodded his head and the two men walked out the door, waiting for my mother.

She kissed my forehead and said, "We'll only be a minute."

She then walked out to the men, shutting the door behind her.

"Damn it, Daniel," I whispered, staring up at the ceiling, new tears falling.

Why'd you do it: I thought, his dark eyes appearing on the ceiling: Why would you do that to me? I thought…I thought you cared about me for a minute.

I heard the door open and I looked. A new person appeared. A woman with long raven hair and dark hazel eyes. She must've been thee doctor because she was wearing a white coat.

She smiled and asked, "How are we, Miss Katelyn?"

I smiled and lifted the arm with the needle.

"Could do without these," I said, "But other than that, I'm sorta ok."

She smiled and wrote on her clipboard. She then walked up to my bed and I saw her reading a monitor above my head.

She wrote again, muttering, "Normal."

She lifted my arm, placing to fingers on my wrist.

"Your pulse is normal as well," she said, gently placing my hand on the soft bed.

"How bad is it?" I asked with a smile.

She smiled back and replied, "Well, you have a large cut on your right leg, although I really don't know how they did that….Anyway, nothing too bad. Some bruises here and there. Your left wrist is swollen but other than that you can leave tomorrow after some check ups and can return to school, if you want, Thursday."

I smiled weakly.

I leaned against the pillow and closed my eyes slowly, drifting into a deep sleep.

I heard myself whisper, "That's good news."

I then heard her laugh as I fell into my deep sleep.

I had been asked on Thursday where I had been and what had happened. I put on a smile and told them all it was nothing.

I walked over to my locker, Maria crying slightly, but smiling. She hugged me and said, "I'll meet you in class, sweetie."

She then ran to her class. I then opened my locker and heard the bell ring. I sighed and thought: I hope Mrs. Dale will let me be tardy. I don't want a detention and not be able to go to tonight's dance!

Yeah there was a teacher's conference Friday and they were letting us miss school and they moved the dance to Thursday.

I walked to class, hearing footsteps behind me.

Probably just a teacher: I thought as I turned to Mrs. Dale's class.

It took a lot of encouraging to convince my parents to let me go to the dance with Maria and some friends.

They were worried something would happen to me I told them I would be fine.

Now I'm sitting alone in a chair, wearing a light blue dress with my new hair high up in a bun.

I sighed and walked to a dark corner which was the only place I could get a signal on my phone at.

I decided to text my cousin that lived three hours away. As I completed my text I clicked send and closed my phone. I smiled and turned around, only to hit someone in the chest.

I saw that the person was wearing a tux with a black tie.

"I'm sorry," I said looking up.

My eyes widened and everything stopped. The music, the world, and my heart.

I was staring into the dark blue eyes that I had been seeing for the pass few days.

He smiled at me sheepishly, and said, "Hey."

I backed away, and whispered, "Daniel."

I felt my back hit the wall as I stared at him, fully petrified.

He was wearing indeed a full tux and I saw his black hair combed neatly, yet it was still messy.

He smiled at me, and stepped forward.

I felt like I was about to throw up a lung.

"Hey, Katelyn," he said, "How ya been?"

I couldn't answer.

He frowned and said, "Hey sorry that I've been…kinda ignoring you. Been a bit busy."

I shook my head, and whispered, "Go away."

He frowned and said, "I'm sorry if I hurt you, Katelyn. But we can go back to what we were before!"

I looked at him and said, "No we can't."

Tears formed in my eyes and the pain came into my legs and chest.

I felt his hands on my arms.

I looked him in the eyes and he said, "I'm real sorry if I hurt you, Katelyn, but I'm sorry. I was just confused and hurt."

"So am I!" I yelled.

Nobody seemed to notice.

He looked at me.

"Look," he said, his eyes begging, "Will you please forgive me?"

I shook my head and whispered, "I can't."

He looked confused.

Was he really being dumb or was this all a joke for his buddies?

"Daniel, you sent me to the hospital," I whispered.

His eyes widened and I heard him whisper, "What?"

"Daniel!" I said louder, "Have you noticed my hair?!"

That would probably remind him.

"Your hair?" he asked his eyes looking up, "What's with your hai-"

He saw my hair and his eyes widened.

"Oh shit," he whispered looking back down at me.

"Katelyn," he whispered, "Please tell me you weren't her."

Tears spilling I yelled, "You mean that 'bitch' that you abused?!"

His eyes widened. He understood now.

He gripped me tighter and said, "Please listen I-"

"Don't give me some excuse!" I said.

"No, Katelyn," he said, "I..I was drunk you have to understand. I was drunk and if I would've known that it was you…you had dyed your hair a-and your scarf hid your face!"

"So if you saw me, you wouldn't have literally not almost kill me?" I asked, "So, what if I was some other poor girl? You would hurt her though, right?"

He shook his head and yelled, "N-no! I-I was drunk you have to understand th-"

"OH so you were drunk?!" I yelled, "Damn it, Daniel, are you trying to ruin your life or something?"

He stared into my teary eyes.

I continued, "Did you truly care about me at all?! I know I did, and I still do after what you did to me, Daniel! I-"

I was cut off by Daniel smashing his lips with mine. I widened my eyes as he moved them on mine.

He took his lips off and stared at me.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I really do care about you, Katelyn. Katelyn, I think I love you."

I moved away from him.

"But you hang out with those dangerous people," I whispered, "Why?"

He stared at me and said, "When I was confused about you they seemed to understand. They were rejects too and still are. They found each other and then they found me and accepted me! I felt like I had more friends, but none of it felt more right than being with you."

I stepped toward the exit, ready to run away, to try and run home.

"Daniel…," I whispered, "I…I can't…I just can't."

He stepped forward and said, "Please, Katelyn. Please forgive me. I…I…" He didn't know what to say.

"Just go away, Daniel," I whispered turning away, "Don't…don't come near me anymore. I…I can't take it."

I then burst out the exit.

"Katelyn!" he yelled.

I didn't look back. I ran all the way to where I would never see him again: My own home.

Ok I'm lucky I got this. Been up since five this morning typing this so be grateful! I think I'm going to end the story soon. Probably within the four chapters or less. Review for me!
