V.S. Her name is pronounced Lee and I do try on those spelling and grammar things.

Galinda-girl I really am trying to get depth with Leigh, but it can be hard.

Daniel paced the small front room while I sat thinking. It was the only thing I even had to occupy my mind in the first place. The safe house that they had taken Daniel to was small and nearly unfurnished. There was only a small card table, a couch and a mini fridge. "Stop pacing Dan," I said in a detached voice without looking at him.

"How can you be so calm Leigh?!" Daniel snapped. "Why aren't you panicking or…or something!"

"One of us has to think around here Daniel and it's obviously not going to be you," I said still refusing to look at my brother.

"So! I think I have a right to panic. You didn't see all the blood in that room. I thought it was your blood Leigh. Do you have any idea how terrifying that was?"

"I can imagine Daniel," I snapped. I stood up and glared at my younger brother. "If you'll remember some of that blood was on me. You weren't the one he said he was going kill…until you saved me." I sighed and slumped back down into the couch. "I thank you for saving me Dan…but he's going to try and kill you now. I don't like that idea. I really don't."

Dan's face twisted in pain and concern as he rushed forward to hold me. "I'm sorry Leigh. I wasn't thinking." It wasn't until Dan was wiping my tears away that I realized that I had been crying.

"We'll be okay Dan…we have to be. They'll find that bastard and he'll go to prison. He'll never get out. He won't touch us."

"Right," Daniel said nodding his head quickly. "We don't have to worry because they'll get him and then we'll be safe."

"Safe…" I whispered wistfully as I leaned my head against Daniel's shoulder and fell asleep.

It was bright outside when I woke up. I could only hear Daniel's and my breathing. I didn't know what had woken me up. I sat up and looked around. There was nothing in this room, the same as it had been when I had fallen asleep. I walked to the window and looked out. My breath caught in my throat. There was blood on the windshield of the police cruiser. So much blood. One of the officers lay in the car, his head thrown back showing the bloody, gaping maw of his throat. I covered my mouth as I gagged. He couldn't have found us already…could he?

"D-Daniel…get up. Now," my voice was ragged and barely recognizable as I stumbled away from the window.

"Wh-what is it sis?" Daniel asked blearily looking around.

"Get up!" I yelled finally moving and grabbing Daniel's arm. "He's here! The cops are dead Dan! Up now!"

Daniel's eyes flew open and he shot up. "Thorne's here!" Daniel's voice raised an octave.

"Yes!" I snapped. "Get up! We have to go now Dan!" I pulled Daniel off the couch and dragging him to the back. I looked out the window next to the door and saw Marion coming to the door. "Front now," I hissed pushing my baby brother in front of me. Her moved readily running in front of me and tearing the front door open. I run faster than my brother so I got ahead of him quickly.

"You can't run anywhere Leigh," Marion Thorne cackled from the back door.

"Faster Dan!" I yelled as I ran around to the driver's side of the cruiser. I started the car and looked for my brother…as he was being dragged away by a man of average height with honey brown hair and hazel eyes.

"Leigh! Drive!" Daniel ordered me as Marion came sauntering from the house and grabbed Daniel's hair.

"Leigh! Get out of that car and play!" Marion called laughing. "You don't want to leave your brother alone with me now do you?"

"Go Leigh!" Daniel yelled earning him a sharp tug on his hair. The second man was almost to the cruiser. Tears were falling down my face when my foot slammed down on the gas pedal making the car jump forward. I hated myself. I was leaving my brother in the hands of a monster.

Daniels sat on the plane looking over Marion's file. He really didn't need to because he knew the file by heart, but it was always good to review. Especially with this new information. Marion wasn't the kind of person to hold someone hostage. He stole from people, tortured them, killed them. If this girl was alive, he would want vengeance. He had probably planned on killing her anyway.

Daniels sat back and looked out the window. We'll be landing soon. The voice came over the intercom and Daniels sighed. He hated his job sometimes. But if he could catch Marion Thorne and finally take this guy out…it would be the greatest accomplishment yet. It would give him peace. It would help him sleep at night again…something he hadn't been able to do for a while.

"I'll get you Thorne," Daniels whispered. "I won't become you, but by God I'll stop you."
