"People Who Love Sidewalk Chalk"

They are kids at heart
And show compassion for those things
Younger and simpler than they are;
The ease of expression and creativity,
Coming naturally to them.
They make their own lines,
And color out side of them,
In the driveway,
Which is littered with fine dust
Of many hues,
Coating their skin and clothes
As if it were raining in Technicolor.
All the cares in the world go away.
Their illustrations make them immortal;
At least until they happen upon an unfriendly garden hose.
When they paint it's aesthetic.
Their spirits expressed until the next passing rain.
