The bright white moon shone brilliantly

Over the oldest great forest

Nestled amid the mountain range

Isolated by the desert

The oldest forest, where it was said,

The fairies of legend still dwelt

Their merry dancing bringing light

To all the people of the land

The proud forest tucked into the valley

Stood guardian over the plain

Where lived two sisters, pure and sweet

The delight of all who saw them

Of their laughter tales were told

Of their radiant beauty

Alike, were they, in all ways but one

The one had hair as pale as snow

The other dark as ebony

Their spirits made the moon shine brighter

Over the old great forest

Nestled amid the mountain range

Isolated by the desert

The valley was merry with their singing

The moon shone brighter still

Life was rich, and glad, and wonderful

In the valley filled with love

They had hearts of solid gold

They had hands of silk

They blessed the lives of all who came

To be comforted at their door

Yet no other love in the valley could hope to match

The bond of the blood that flowed through their veins

The sisters lived and served as one

United hearts, undying love

Sisterly love, it touched the hearts of all

Bringing hope and life to tattered soul

Peace and goodness reined

When the valley was merry with their singing

The moon shone brighter still

Life was rich, and glad, and wonderful

In the valley filled with love

But time rolled on and the valley grew dark

For a great season of sorrow follows a great season of peace

Evil struck the valley of light

Destroying love and tearing away hope

The laughter and merriment had called out to one

Who considered such things a curse

He had slept for a thousand years

Hiding from the world that had burned him

Wounded, his twisted heart grew blacker with malice

His hide grew thick, his claws grew strong

He awoke seeking retribution for all that he hated

Good and light, purity and love

They had thrown him down, cast him away

Buried him beneath the mountain

Now the fools would reap their reward

Healed was the wound that had once opened his side

He had returned, and would rein omnipotent

Dominance over the frail beings who populated his world

With a monstrous cry he erupted from his cave

Evil arose from his dark pit

Evil rained fire upon those who defied him

Time had rolled on and the valley grew dark

For a great season of sorrow follows a great season of peace

Evil struck the valley of light

Destroying love and tearing away hope

A war was waged upon the land

The fields were burned, the homes ruined

All that was good became corrupted

And Evil resumed his twisted throne

In the valley of light, by the old great forest

Love existed no more

For in his takeover, his vile conquest

Evil desired a trophy amongst the riches he acquired

A symbol of his vanquished foe

The blood-red sunset had revealed to him

One pure in heart, full of rapture

The life of the valley, the one hope in their soul

Her pale hair glinted gold in the dying sun

Her beauty was unmatched

There stood the emblem of all his suffering

His defeat of the hands of one like her

Beautiful and virtuous, the light to those around her

What a perfect treasure for his trove

The symbol of his absolute power

He swooped down in a cloud of smoke

His scaly talons scraped her sides as he rose,

Taking her far away to stand a prisoner at this throne

The war had been waged upon the land

The fields were burned, the homes ruined

All that was good had become corrupted

And Evil resumed his twisted throne.
