If humans haven't estrus,
Perhaps I am an ape;
If male apes haven't estrus,
I'll guess I'm in bad shape,

Because it is a minute
Since mid-night-time has struck,
And lusting for some harlot,
I find I'm out of luck

By cue of ev'ry sunset;
There's never risk to take –
No daunting natural gauntlet,
No thought-provoking rake

To change my mind on matters
When I should be asleep,
With whom to make some banter,
With whom about to creep!

If male apes haven't estrus,
Then I can be no boy;
I leak each day a mucous
For naught an eve of joy.
