The world is spinning
turning black
the stars melt,
they fade and crack
Alice runs
she tries to hide
the simple world
she's found inside
the looking glass
is dark and deep
her dreams are there
hers to keep
she sighs
fate has taken
quite a spin
on her little world
of within.
It used to be
a peaceful place
of shining sun
and windy embrace
but now its shared
by another
a gruesome dreamer
a churlish lover
he takes away
the shiny mirror
and fills her world
with blackened fear
a frightful tale
has spun its way
in Alice's path, with
no escape
and until the day
her rescuer comes
Alice will always,
always run.
