Ah, the presidential election. A time of excitement, competition, and many, many speeches. Left and right politicians throw promises and goals in the air for to make what we can of them. It is up for us, the people, to make the critical decision of who to will rise to the top and who will be left in the dust, who will be entrusted with the fragile well-being of our good country. So no pressure, right?
There is one candidate that has been causing quite the uproar, a woman that the media seems to love or hate. From lawyer to First Lady to U.S. Senator, Hillary Clinton is known for her special interest in not just the politics but the people, something that the Oval Office is currently lacking.
Hillary Clinton is best known, besides being Mrs. Bill Clinton, for her "radical" ideas. When Bill Clinton was in office, she was assigned to deal with the nation's heath care, and ridiculed for her plans. Now, those very ideas not seem like such bad ones.
Hillary Clinton plans to make health care available for everyone, not just those who have it with their job. It is flexible, and if you like the plan you are already on, then you can keep it and don't have to make a single change. And the best part is, it isn't tied into your job. You don't have to have a boss that supplies it, and if you quit or get fired it won't go away. Also, it will become considerably cheaper for those who do buy it.
The war on terror. It lines the news and has the country at odds when it comes to supporting it. Roughly twenty percent of the men and women being shipped overseas will never come home. We are wallowing in million of dollars in debt, yet pouring millions more still into the war. Other countries are beginning to hate the United States, which might cause us to lose valuable allies and trading partners. Hillary sees all of this. She doesn't just say that she will send the troops home if she gets into office, but rallying to have Congress force Bush to stop the war at this very moment, so if she doesn't get elected she will at least have made an effort toward ending the American involvement in the Iraq war.
These are only two of the many things she has planned for this country. She is very involved in better education and creating a better home life for children in need. She will put people that are qualified into positions at the government. And she will do her best for this country and the people who call it home.
