HAPPY LATE EARTH DAY! Help our planet! It's really not that hard people!

All this beauty
Forgotten long ago
Lost in memory
In progression's to and fro

The gorgeous Mr. Sun
The graceful Ms. Moon
Mother Nature sings her lullaby
Which will envelop me soon

By day, this pretty scene
Is bright with greens
Thriving with gold and blue
On my canvas, it teems

At night, it sings
The crickets rosin their bows
Frogs release their deep baritones
Lost in the music's throes

And when it storms
The rain comes in fleets
Little diamonds give sweet nourishment
One of Mother's special treats

But these wonders never last
Green, yellow, blue
Buried under black and gray
Removing all that we once knew

What is natural
What is real
What is whole
Is what we steal

In modern times
What is the natural state
Can we save it
Or is it too late

Underneath it all
Is something lost
Is what we gain
Worth the cost?
