Daring to Be
If the moon shines softly o'er the sea,
And if all the world is young and free,
Dare not I to seek myself and be?
Who, God, who am I?
I exist as a dream, and live as a lie.
I'm breathing, not being. I need to know why.
Mote than anything I wish to break free.
But if I don't what that is, how can I be?
God, my God, how do I discover me?
Wanting the dream, but living the lie,
If I am destined to fall, why do I try?
There is something in jumping, and hoping to fly.
Packaged and pinched by insecurity,
If I break through my haven, then will I see?
So I take a deep breath, jump, and dare to be.
