Stars of Slumber
Twinkling light illuminates to the tune of a soft melody
Overheard by eager young ears basking in their silvery glow
Cut out stars become pasted along an endless curtain of darkness
A magic show only noticed by eyes filled with childhood wonder
Innocence reflects itself off the mirrored surface of the stars above
While the gaze of the children stare dreamily beyond what is known
Sweet music drifts lazily through their ears blown by a swaying breeze
Calmly bringing waves a slumber to the tiresome bodies below
