"the rouge coals languish long after midnight

We attend to lover's whims by day,

And attempt to live by dusk,

Too naïve to realize,

One can only live, well after the twilight hours are departed.

We stroke the proverbial fire,

Feed it life,

So it can live another day,

There are no selfish thoughts,

At least from us.

We long to have what others have,

Feel what other's feel,

And so,

One fateful day,

One selfish day,

The rouge coals languish long after midnight.
