If you feel me walking beside you
Why don't you stop and turn
Instead you keep on walking
Why, fazed, ignore me too?
Here I am, alone and unsure
Watching you move on ahead
As I stand in a spell, absorbed in
The minuet of my lady rain, so pure
Though I sense the smile on your face
I feel there's nothing I can do
To bring you back to the way you were
In another time, another place
Like wind chimes screaming in the storm
It was a desperation-driven chord
Although you remind me of myself
Our music has no form
But if you'd just stop to turn and listen
You'd feel the beauty in us both
How when strung as one these seperate notes
We forgot this sense of something missing
Though I see the teardrops on your face
I feel there's nothing I can do
To bring you back to the way you were
In another time, another place
Now that you stand before me
I see the first time through this mire
Your face is gentle as you look back and shiver
I realize you have never even seen
Well maybe it was me
Who was walking all along
Or maybe it just could never feel right-
It just could never be
Though I stare in wonder at your face
I feel there's nothing I can do
To bring you back to the way you were
In another time, another place
A/N: This poem blows. My first attempt at using song-style repitition in poetry. Didn't work to well.
