Ok, here's a new story. I hope yall like it! R&R to let me know if I should keep writing. ty!

"Take me out to the ball game! Take me out to the crowd! Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks, I don't care if I never get back, cause it's root, root, root for the FALCONS, if they don't win it's a shame. For it's one! Two! Three strikes your out at the old ball game!"

Everyone at the park could hear the singing. Rachel was crying, so were most of the other girls. They had won. Against all odds, they had won!

As they stood crying on the third base line of the softball diamond, Rachel remembered how they had all sweat, worked, laughed, and begged to get here. It had all started about three months ago….

"No."

"No!? How can they say no! I'm the best second baseman in the school! Everyone knows it!" Rachel Newman exploded at her mother.

"I'm sorry dear but that's what they said. They know how badly you did last season, and I cant really blame them for..." Rachel broke her off.

"What! You cant blame them!" She yelled. She took a deep breath, pushed her blond hair out of her green eyes, and continued. "Mom, look, the only reason I did so bad last year is I was still recovering from my wrist surgery. But it's fine now! I'm ready to play again!"

"I'm sorry Rachel. But that's just the way it is. The coaches said no, and I'm not going to ask them why." Mrs. Newman turned back to her baking.

Rachel ran upstairs, grabbed her glove off her bedpost and ran out side. The spring air was still chilly and she hugged her self as she walked down the local park. On the way there, she saw a field that she had never really noticed before. She jumped over the ditch and pushed through the tall grasses. Rachel gasped in delight. She had never seen anything so wonderful in her life.

What she saw was a baseball field.
