It was a beautiful summer's day.

He decided it would be today. The day that he told her he loved her.

Together, they walked through the park.

She had a smile on her face as she watched a bird chirping.

He decided it was finally time.

He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.

"I've never told you this before, but I've loved you ever since I first met you."

She looked up at him in shock.

He looked into her eyes, but all he saw was himself reflected in her eyes.

The love wasn't there.

She opened her mouth to say something, but then she stopped and stared behind him in shock.

He turned around, unsure and unhappy.

His mouth fell open.

A man was pointing a gun at him.

"Run!" he screamed at her.

He looked into the man's eyes and he could see that all the man wanted was her. The man would do whatever it took to get to her,

Even if it meant kill.

He felt the gun on his neck and closed his eyes.

He would do whatever it took to save her.

The last thing he remembered was screaming, and then he fell into a plunge of darkness.

He emerged from the darkness confused.

Where was he?

And then he heard a voice.

"Welcome to heaven".

Today is 5 years from the day I confessed my love to you.

5 years from the day you rejected me,

5 years from the day I saved you,

5 years from the day I died for you,

And 5 years from my first day in heaven.

I gave my heart to you, gave my soul, but I was never good enough for you.

Even after I died to save you, you never loved me.

Instead, you fell in love with him.

A man who comes home late every night drunk.

A man who abuses you.

A man who obviously doesn't love you.

A man whom you love.

Every night in the heavens, I watch him beating you.

You're bruised from head to toe but for some reason, I still see the love in your eyes.

Why wasn't I good enough?

I remember the unsure look on your face when we walked through the park that day.

It was then that I knew I was never going to be good enough.

But there was always a part of me that had hope,

Hope that one day you'd love me too.

Today is 10 years from the day I confessed my love to you.

10 years from the day you rejected me,

10 years from the day I saved you,

10 years from the day I died for you,

And 10 years from my first day in heaven.

It's your 30th birthday today.

You've got at a new boyfriend.

I felt jealous when I watched him kiss you.

I wished it was me,

But there was no way I could kiss you from up here in heaven.

Today is 15 years from the day I confessed my love to you.

15 years from the day you rejected me,

15 years from the day I saved you,

15 years from the day I died for you,

And 15 years from my first day in heaven.

My parents held a memorial for me today.

Almost all of my family and friends came.

But to me,

None of that mattered,

Because you weren't there with them.

Today is 20 years from the day I confessed my love to you.

20 years from the day you rejected me,

20 years from the day I saved you,

20 years from the day I died for you,

And 20 years from my first day in heaven.

I sit here watching you running around with your 4 year old son.

You smile, but I can't help wondering if you're truly happy.

Later, you give your husband a surprise visit at his office.

Instead, you find him making out half naked with one of his co-workers.

All I know is that,

I'd never cheat on you.

Today is 25 years from the day I confessed my love to you.

25 years from the day you rejected me,

25 years from the day I saved you,

25 years from the day I died for you,

And 25 years from my first day in heaven.

Last year you finally finished filing you're divorce and now you're happily engaged.

I've decided that as long as you're happy on Earth, I'll be happy up here in Heaven.

But in my dreams we'll always be happily married with two cute little girls.

A happy family who live in the house with the white picket fence.

Maybe one day,

I'll see you in heaven.
