Playing With Danger

Scanning the empty streets

Seeing not a soul outside

Killing all the lamp lights

It's a dark and cold night

It's too much of a burden

Too much of a scare

I know someone else is here

Watching me with eyes like midnight

It's never a good idea to play with danger

To understand its nature

It's never a smart move to call deceit with a beckoning finger

To request its real disposition

It's never a rational though to coax menace out of hiding

To tease it into coming closer

It'll always find a way to win

Walking down the bare street

Coming to a stop at an alley

Looking through the piercing darkness

Not a sliver of light coming through

I watch in terror as I see large claws

The moon reflects its defined sharpness

Out from the shadows come my fears, my nightmare

From the depths of hell comes defeat

It's never a good idea to play with danger

To understand its nature

It's never a smart move to call deceit with a beckoning finger

To request its real disposition

It's never a rational though to coax menace out of hiding

To tease it into coming closer

It'll always find a way to win
