Chapter Four
Author's Notes: So, did any of you expect for the princess to actually declare war against her own father? Talk about a pretty pissed off princess. Things are beginning to heat up! What'll happen next? You'll just have to read and find out!
"Who would think, that a small little princess could hold such a fiery temper and be so determined. I've got to admit, this mortal princess has greatly impressed me. I would wish for you to find her and bring her to me. I wish to meet this fair mortal princess," Murmured a man with blonde hair that was so pale, that it was practically white. He had the most greenest of eyes, like the richest, healthiest of leaves. He sat upon a throne like chair in a fortress that had trees inside of them. It was like being in a forest but yet at the same, being inside of a building. It was quite fascinating.
An elf with blonde hair was knelt before the man, who was obviously royalty. The elf seated wore no crown though, no jewelry except for a single silver necklace with a pendant shaped like a leaf. He shifted in his seat, resting his elbow on the arm of the chair in order to lay his chin in the palm of his hand as he gazed down at the elf before him.
"Also, I want her found as soon as possible. I desire her presence before she actually goes about the business of participating in the actual war itself. Understood?"
"Of course, your highness-"
"Now what did I say about that? I've told you before. I've been exiled. I'm technically no longer a prince. Please, just call me Atramare," Atra said, flapping his free hand dismissively at the other man, signaling that the mother male could leave. "If you don't mind, I think I'll take a nap. I'm quite weary."
The man nodded and stood, sweeping around and out of the room that was pretty much a throne room. Atra watched him leave and he slumped in his seat, shifting his hand to rest it against his forehead and closed his green eyes. He already felt a sort of kinship with the mortal princess whom he had never met. Yet, she was going against her father and the vision was oh so familiar, because he had done it himself. But he had lost, but if her cause was right, he would lend her assistance and allow her to win when he had failed.
"I'm looking forward to meeting you, dear little Valerie."
"Princess, the demon prince is searching for you. What will you do?" Le'neh asked, watching the princess pace back and forth in front of them. They were in a grassy plain, patiently awaiting for the dragon army to assemble. Le'neh's mate stood beside him, shaking her head at him. "He's not the prince of demon, he's the prince of elves. Well, he was." Valerie blinked.
"What do you mean was? Did something happen?" The red dragon turned her head from her mate and peered down at the petite princess. She nodded. "Yes, something did happen."
"Yeah, he was exiled," Le'neh piped up, earning a mild glare from his mate. "Sorry, love. I'll let you tell this tale."
"Thank you. Now, as I was saying. Yes, he was exiled. He, much like you, disagreed with how his father, the Elven King was running things and so he challenged and him lost. Shamed and angered by his son's betrayal, the King banished his son. Bad thing is, was that Prince Atramare was the Crown Prince and the king has no other son. So, he's in quite the pickle right now." Valerie blinked, confusion beginning to mar her features.
"I don't understand though, why would Atramare be interested in me?"
"Maybe because you're in a similar situation as he and he feels a sort of kinship and maybe wants to become allies? Who knows. Besides, we might need the allies. Elves are quite strong and talented. Swift too," Le'neh rumbled. Valerie pursed her lips together, ceasing in pacing. She fell silent, mulling over this information.
After a few moments, Le'neh cleared his throat and spoke again. "So, princess, what shall we do?"
"Well, I guess we'll let him find us. If he shows the faintest sign of hostility, we flee."
"Then it's settled," The two dragons said at once.
"Yes, it's settled," Valerie said, agreeing.
Author's Note: I'm going to end this, because it is freaking 6:50 in the morning and I haven't slept. See, I told you I was going to be dedicated but now, I need to get some sleep. We wouldn't want me to be rambling about nonsense while in a zombie trance? Didn't think so. Let me know what you think in a review! Reviews both please and inspire me. Until next time, see you, space cowboy.
P.S. I'm probably going to end up staying up writing chapter five, so try to be patient while waiting and I'll have it up as soon as I can!
