A crystal façade
In all of its glory
To cover my face each day
Minute in its work
With hardly a flaw
It smiles to those passing my way
It holds an expression
Of peace and of joy
For all of the world to see
Ne'er guessing that this
Sparkling covering
Doesn't at all show me
It simply reveals
What people expect
And what they want me to show
Not caring that the
Person beneath
Is buried quite far below
As long as I give
What they want to see
Joy, even when I'm alone
Leaving me to deal
With deep hurts and pains
As well as I can on my own
