A/N: This story was inspired by a dream I had, so hopefully it turns out alright. I hope everyone enjoys it. Fun fun. Lol.

NOTE: If you see a word with on the top right, it means I'm putting a definition at the bottom of the chapter.

Summary: A new virtual reality game is created and Tod is the only one who'sever woken up after entering "Vale". In "Vale" he falls in love with a NPCnamed Aurianna who tries to explain that "Vale" is in fact, real. That it'snot a game at all. The Corporation had in fact created a program that ripped a hole in to their dimension. The program that they created only brings people to their world and gives them everything and anything they want…

Chapter 1

"The Guinea Pig"

I've been a part of this gaming corporation for about three years now. Nothing's really changed, but I knew everything was on the verge of it. I was the experiment, or guinea pig if you will, of all the games created here. But, I didn't expect this new one to be so interesting.

A RPG that takes you into an entire new world where you play a character in a different world that imitates ours. It's here people can play the person they wish they were, have the things they wish they had, have all the money in the world… All they need to do is think about what they want and then they have it. It's still under experimentation though. So far everyone who's entered this game haven't woken up. Now, I'm the next one to test to see if I wake up, and if I do, I'm to explain why the others didn't.

I think it's obvious why they aren't waking up. They don't want to leave their fantasy lives. I find myself almost sorry for them, but if their lives are so pathetic that they want to live a life other than their own, that's their choice. I still find it despicable.

Once I walked in to the virtual reality experimentation room, a woman approached me with a pair of black goggles in hand and a serious flat look on her face, "This new virtual reality game has been leaked to the underground society and now over 60 people have been accounted for that won't wake up. We need you to find them, try to wake them, and find out why…"

"I've already told you fucking people. You have them the opportunity to live in a perfect world and they are keeping it," I interjected. I'll admit, I'm tired of explaining my reasoning to these dumbasses.

"These people are dieing Tod. They don't have anyone to take them to the hospital because then they'd be turning themselves in or they'd disconnect them from the game and then they would be terminated! So all these people are either slowly dieing from lack of food and water or else heart attacks!"

I paused to glance in to her eyes and slowly expressed my worry, "Heart attacks…? No one said anything about fucking heart attacks!"

She quickly put her hand over her mouth in astonishment. Then I knew, I wasn't supposed to know about it at all.

"Fuck this shit! I'm out!"

"Wait, Tod. These heart attacks only happen if you die while in the virtual game. You're not at as much risk as you think. Please help us, all these people are dieing…"

"Alright, let me get this straight- 1.) I have a chance at never waking up from this fucked up game. 2.) I have a chance at having a heart attack 3.) We don't even know all the fucking dangers and you call this not as risky as I fucking think?"

"Tod-please…"

Here I turned around and flicked her off and started to walk out, but then she quickly shouted, "We'll add 5,000 to your pay check from here on out! We need you to help us save these people!"

Of course this stopped me in my tracks. That extra 5,000 would make me one rich man every pay check. I don't have a wife or kids, or family for that matter so I wasn't risking much except for my life. And I didn't mind that much honestly. Not with that much money on the line.

"Alright, sure. I'll do it."

A large grateful smile spread across her face and she handed me the goggles, "Just lay down in the chamber and put these on. We'll need to start you on some I.V. fluids just in case… And we'll attach a heart monitor to you as well."

Without replying I walked over and did as she instructed, allowing them to place a catheter in me and give me fluids. I knew that all these procedures and precautions should bother me, but it didn't.

Once I placed the goggles over my eyes all I saw was complete darkness and then they closed the chamber. I could hear the latch echo inside, and then I heard the gasses start coming in. In a matter of minutes I was plunging headlong into the fantasy world. Everything felt so real but I kept reminding myself it wasn't, wouldn't be, couldn't be. This was all the fiction of someone's mind in the corporation and nothing more.

I was suddenly there, in that world gazing up at the black sky with stars winking at me next to the crescent moon. It looked identical to the sky I had just left. Here I asked myself, "Did I even enter the virtual reality or am I still at home?"

RPG: Role Playing Game.

NPC: Non-Player Character

I have some kinks to work out, and quite a bit of editing I know, so please give me your reviews and I'll edit it some more from there. Thanks!
