Doctor's Note 9-1-08

"You have to be crazy to write anything at all,"
That's what the doctor said.
"Then forget the prescription and leave your wife,
Come with me to bed."

"I'll whisper and writhe with words by your side
If you worry for my sake.
I'll brush along my ill set tongue
'Till you can barely wake."

"And in your dreams you'll see it well,
The imagery's quite clear,
That pen and quill will linger on
Amidst your awful fear."

"Now my sanity is well-stocked, I swear,
There's never been any doubt;
But it's a dangerous man who thinks at all
That there's nothing to write about."
