To Laugh: "Make spontaneous sounds and movements, usual in expressing lively amusement"

"Ha, Ha, Ha"

Laughing is the beginning and ending of life. Laughing is every silly trick your grandpa ever pulled on you. You know, the ol' quarter out of your ear. Laughing is stomach aches, ab cramps and tear filled eyes. Laughing is every child's first smile, first giggle, first all out throw your head back and rip it out laugh. Laughing is every Wednesday night, when you put off doing your homework to watch Family Guy. Laughing is like being taken to heaven for that one split second, where nothing else matters and a sound more addictive then heroine explodes, bubbling out of you. It's every night your friends came over to cheer you up after a serious break up, where tears of sadness turned to tears of laughter. It's the escape from every awkward situation. From every dull, sad, depressing moment in your entire life. Could you live without it?

Laughing is feeling alive. That one time you ditched school to drive down to the beach. Going swimming, playing volleyball in the sand. The soft rev of the engine drowned out by sporadic bursts of giggles as you pull away from the school, trying not to get caught. The rush of adrenaline through your veins, as you escape. Feeling free, not having to answer to anyone. That's what it feels like to laugh. Being irresponsible to the point of recklessness, where all you want to do is laugh until you die. Could you live without it?

Laughing is a chain of addiction. Remember that one time you couldn't stop laughing. For the life of you, you couldn't remember what the heck was so funny, but something was. It's contagious to the point where with one laugh, a whole room will laugh with you. Once the chain of laughter begins, it's impossible to end. It just keeps going and going like the energizer bunny. Laughing and laughing and laughing until you can't breathe anymore. Could you live without it?

Laughing is late nights and sitcoms during the week. Don't tell me you fell asleep when Tom Cruise was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Or when he jumped on Oprah's couch in excitement over his love for Katie Holmes. When Dwight from The Office knocked a cup of coffee from someone's hand. When Joey from Friends ate a whole turkey… to himself! The early morning grogginess from getting only 4 hours of sleep because you had to watch that fourth episode of That 70's Show. Laughing is every time you stayed up until the wee hours of the morning watching Dane Cook, Chris Rock, Russell Peters. Could you live without it? Laughing is the moments you share with others. Picture early Monday mornings on the city bus, going to school. The only reason you're still awake is because you're laughing. Laughing at the little girl sticking her tongue out at her brother, laughing at your stupid friends making stupid jokes that you laugh stupidly at. It's every time you were bored, sitting in your best friend's basement making random jokes, sounds, actions. It's every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and Halloween you spent with your family laughing at one thing or another. Laughing is unforgettable moments, moments that will stay with you for the rest of your life, moments that will stay with you forever. Could you live without it?

Could you live without it? Live without laughing? Live without those never-ending random, sporadic laughing sprees? That first smile, first giggle, that first I-don't-give-a-crap-what-anyone-thinks-about-me laugh? The feeling that everything in the world is alright for one second. Could you live with those boring, awkward situations day after every single stupid day? Those boring, redundant people that have no joy in life - could you be one of them? Could you honestly tell me, that from the bottom to the top of your heart, from the tips of your toes to the last damn hair on your head, that you could live without laughing?
