The Hunting of the Unicorn

The Hunting of the Unicorn

There was a time when a creature lived

Magnificent beyond the eyes of mankind

Pure white innocence and wild beauty

A freer spirit you could not find

In the lands of which he roamed

Bringing lost angels home

But in time, as all men do

The people began to fear

His fierce beauty and loving nature too

Perhaps his virtue too much to behold

In the eyes of the sinners voices told

Their holy lies which destroyed him

So in time their faith turned sour

And their hatred was left to devour

He so left this corrupted plan

To the one from which he came

Leaving this world forlorn

The hunting of the unicorn
