Who's gonna pick you up

Who's gonna pick you up?
Who's gonna bend your rules?
Who's gonna be your prop?
Who's gonna play your fool?

She always wakes before the bell rings, usually at six, quarter past six, half six or quarter to seven. She gets up, opens up her laptop and reads her emails.

He rarely sleeps. Usually when he does nothing wakes him up, he's usually sitting there on the internet or drawing on a piece of scrap paper,

She takes forever to wake up, her mum screams her name and she groans wishing it was Saturday not Monday.

She wakes rather easily, sighing at the shouts coming from her brother.

The bell is ringing and her mother is shouting for them to wake, she shouts in unison with her siblings that she's up before she snaps the light on and open's the wardrobe, she stares at her clothes before pulling out a pair of black trousers and matching top.

He yanks out the neon green shoe laces furiously and replaces them with black. He's in a bad mood today and this was his way of dealing with it.

She stares at her reflection her eyes wide and huge as she applies mascara on her lashes, careful to not jog and poke her eye out.

She's trying to decide on which whacky colour scheme, holding items of clothing together, chucking them back in and pulling new ones out.

Nobody know just how it feels today
nobody sees how our hearts break

She puts on her perfectly blank mask expression on before she opened her bedroom door and went downstairs to eat breakfast and do some chores. She was just glad that her Dad leaves early in the morning so she doesn't have to witness any PDA between her parents.

He doesn't eat breakfast, nor does he do any chores. He just slips in his headphones and packs up his folder, turning the music up to drown out his brothers shouts and screams. Of course his parents do nothing.

She's got to have breakfast, make the lunch and walk her brother to school before going in for assembly and catching a bus to her work placement for the day. A day with primary school kids…going to be a change from the nappy changing she had to do last Friday.

She had to pretty much do everything while her mother calms her brother down, she actually couldn't wait to go to school to get away.

Her heart is broken and she's not sure if she could ever be normal. It's all her parents fault.

His heart is broken and it's partly his, partly his ex and partly his ex's ex.

Her heart is broken and it's because her granddad died.

Her heart just seems to be empty, maybe because she's not properly over all the heartbreak she had to endure through her childhood.

Who's gonna watch your back?
Who's gonna reel you in?
Who'll make surprise attacks?
Who's gonna be there at the end?

She's walking alone on the street; she wonders about everything and settles in a dream state. She could hear someone shout her name 'Hayley, Haley' over and over before she turns to see Lydia running towards her, she quickly slips on her 'I'm fine' mask on.

He went to a newsagent and brought four energy drinks just to keep him awake, he hasn't slept since Thursday and he needed to be hyper to pull off his happy façade.

She walks with her brother silently and snaps a goodbye to him before slipping towards the hall; she pushes her hair out of her face and begins to walk with a walk that screams confidence and attitude. Not letting anyone know that she Anna is scared and broken.

She saw Hayley walk down the street and switched on a chipper mood and shouted after her friend. After all no one should know about old problems of one Lydia.

Nobody knows just how it feels today
nobody sees how our hearts break

Melanie, Sandie, Jon, Alicia, Harriet and Matt were standing there waiting for the others. They could see Cal dressed in all black guzzling energy drink, Anna stomping along the other and Lydia and Hayley chatting happily in another direction. Everyone hugs each other and asks how they are. The answer is always the same 'I'm fine' and then the teacher calls them in to sit for a boring half-hour.

Who's gonna bring you round?
Who's gonna let you sleep?
Who's gonna break your frown?
Who's gonna fall down at your feet?

The teacher was saying something that hinted something rude causing Lydia to elbow Hayley who smirked along with Cal. Anna and the others muffled their giggles.

Hayley yawned and almost nodded off with her head forwards when suddenly Cal moves her slightly so her head was resting on his shoulder, allowing her to sleep peacefully.

Matt whispers something in Anna's ear which makes her smile, she felt a tad better today.

The assembly was over and they could go, it took a minute to wake Hayley up who immediately tripped over her school bag bringing the whole row of them down. They lay there on the floor in a tangle of limbs and for a moment the lie they present was truth.

But no one else could see the tiny hint of emptiness in some of the people's eyes.

Nobody knows...
