Summary:

(Year 3000). Sable, a prostitute, never knew what was life really about. Everything around her was bleak and her only strength of survival was the knowledge that her siblings needed her.

On her 17th bithday, she was sold to a man clothed in black. Later, she finds out that he was a vampire. But the story does not start from there.

She later finds out that she was a reincarnation of a seeker - one of the two chosen ones by the Goddess Arkaal to search and gather the jewels that open the stairways to heaven and protect the pathway from unwanted intruders who also know about the jewels. In return, 3 whishes would be granted to the seeker who manages to complete the task. Guiding each seeker would be 3 knights - a vampire, a witch and a magical historian.

However, the real enemy does not lie on the intruders but the other seeker - Keegan. He who looked like an angel of beauty with a heart of menace and lust for power.

As Sable continue to regain her painful memory of her past reincarnations, she was slowly drawn into a bloody battle where sinful mistakes, unforgiving hearts, treachery and twisted pleasures haunts each and everyone of their souls.

And to top it all off, no matter how Sable tried, her memories of Kendrick - her vampire - and Keegan will not return. Secrets of the past continued to build up as no one was willing to tell her the truth. But what happens when the secrets and hidden memories are revealed? Will she fail like the last time and further allow the worlds to be destroyed or will she overcome the dreadful past and restore order to the dying worlds?

WARNING: CONTAINS SLASH M/M. (But it's not lemon... so don't worry)

AN: my gosh... for the third time... i'm reposting this bloody story... I've officially changed the whole concept, keeping only the basic story line.

I've sent sable to a world 3000 years ago and instead of making her a student, i made her into a teen prostitute. I know I know... How can I do that to her right?

The rest of the characters are pretty much the same. Keegan and the rest will appear later.

I've made things more fast paced. So if this is not your first time reading this story, please give it a go once more.

- NOTE: EDITED -

Chapter 1 (Year 3000)

World: Earth (Black Zone)

The world has been destroyed. Everything that was imagined and predicted a thousand years ago came true. High rises of cold, dark grey buildings covered earth. Poverty has become the norm on society all over the world. War was never ending, children are suffering, people were just falling dead on the streets – either being killed by assassins or by one of the thousands incurable epidemic diseases.

Families were broken and the gap between the elite and the poor were greater than ever. The children of the norm wandered the streets in thin tattered clothes, desperately trying to survive while the rich were dining in posh places with many men by their side, doing their every bidding… even to the point of eliminating other kids that they hate.

Child prostitution became legal because the government could not handle the growing amount of children who would go to great lengths to survive.

The world was cruel. The world was painful. And there was nothing that Sable could do about it as she stared out of the window of her room while waiting for her current customer to finish taking a shower.

She was a child prostitute years ago, and now, she was a teenage prostitute – not much of a change, really. She was young, she had the energy and she cannot say that she hated it. It started out rough but with all those years of experience, she gradually managed to make it as just a part and parcel of her life. Her father was a drunk who went insane and was emitted to a mental hospital. Her mother once worked in a prestigious radioactive bomb making industry and managed to support her and her other two younger siblings. However, when Sable was just 7 years of age, tragedy stroked. Her mother, obviously, died from too much exposure to radioactive materials. People working in these kind of industries do not live long although it paid well. With nothing else and no one to go to, Sable had to quit schooling and start figuring out ways to keep herself and her siblings alive. Probably by fate, she was introduced the world of prostitution and that was when it all began.

Right now, she was one of the highest valued prostitute in her agency. It paid really well and was sufficient for her to send her siblings to proper school and allow them to have a life that befits them. Once in a while, the agency would be able to provide her with cosmetic surgery too.

Now that she was reaching the age of 17, she would be auctioned off to the highest bidder but that would have to come in another 2 days. Right now, she was still considered 16.

She was pulled out from her thoughts by the sound of the bathroom door opening. She sighed. Here we go again… she thought as she stood up, shrugged off her clothes and walked towards the man to finish her job…

World:Valekire

The glowering light of the moon shone through the window, lighting up a small part of a room furnished with furniture made out of diamonds and the finest wood.

A man with skin as pale as the moon slouched on his couch and slung a leg on the arm of it, a wine glass filled with red liquid dangling from his hand. He was clothed in black, a striking contrast to his skin. His lips were as red as blood, a natural color for his kind. His eyes, misty emerald green. He clucked in annoyance at the light of the moon and closed his eyes to shield it from the light. It wasn't because he was sensitive to lights or anything, he just detest them unless it was sunlight. It would not kill him too but he would be embarrassingly frail.

The room was silent save the sound of the ticking clock and that was the way he enjoyed it. His body tensed when the temperature of the room seemed to rise all of a sudden, but made no movement from his current state and rolled his eyes knowing what or rather who caused it. The temperature of his world was always below 16 degrees and now it was most probably 30 degrees.

"Stop looking at me, you bitch." he called out, not bothering to turn around when he heard footsteps that were as soft as his approaching him.

"Kendrick, shouldn't you at least pay your respects to me? I am your goddess after all!" a sound of a woman laughing filled the whole room.

"Respect? Tell me, my lady, what have you done that I should be grateful for so as I would pay you my respects?" the man stood up to face the radiating face of the goddess and clasped his hands behind his back.

"Why, for bringing you back!"

"I'd rather you kill me then bring me back." he spun around and shot a stern glare.

"Yes, yes. You're not the only one who told me that. Believe me." the goddess waved her hands in the air dismissively, thinking back to her previous visitation to the others. "On a more serious note, you do know that the cycle is starting again, don't you? That's why I brought you back."

The man's lips turned into a thin line. "The reincarnation of the two seekers has begun. The celestial jewels are descending from the heavens again."

"Yes. And-"

"And as one of the three knights whose only existence is to solely protect and aid the seeker, I have to find her and help her get to the celestial jewels before the other seeker does." the man continued dryly.

The goddess clapped her hands. "Wonderful! So you must know what to do then?"

"As the head of the knights, I must gather the other two and search for the reincarnation of the seeker."

"Yes! As usual, she can be found on Earth. The rests are up to you, Luther and Saphira to figure out where and who she is now."

The man kept quiet and said nothing. He walked up to the cupboard and took out a wine bottle and poured more of the red liquid into his wine glass. "Just out of curiosity, Arkaál, why in the world have you brought me back? I'd have assumed that you'd choose another leader instead of me after what happened to me in my past life."

"Because, my child, during your very first battle, I've already granted Sable's wish to reincarnate all of you over and over again so long as those in the Caleste have not found a way to destroy those jewels and during the last battle, Keegan made no wishes to me to stop your cycle of reincarnation for this time round."

The man kept quiet and composed but the goddess knew that there was a storm of fear, despair and uncertainty raging in his heart. Softening her voice, the goddess continued, "Kendrick, I've brought you back because without you - despite what happened later on -, the rest wouldn't have gotten that far and it will be better this time. The only difference from the past and now is that I assumed that you wouldn't repeat the same mistake again. Nevertheless, most importantly is that you win the battle this time round."

"Whatever."

"Kendrick, let the past not repeat itself. Remember that…" The goddess sighed and began to leave before stopping midway. "Oh, and I've brought a gift for you, my darling Kendrick. There's a bottle of the finest blood from Caleste on the table by the window. Enjoy."

The man ignored her. When she completely disappeared into thin air and the temperature went back to normal, he looked at the silver bottle filled with 'the finest blood' from the sides of his eyes. Resisting the temptation to try it, he drained it completely into the sink.

"Sable..." he whispered her name achingly. Somewhere deep in his heart, he knew he couldn't run from the past forever, but to face her once more and to know that he'll hurt her again, it pains him so...

World: Earth (Black Zone)

Sable stood on the centre of the stage in only her lingerie and tried to hide her anger and annoyance at the men in the whole group of bidders and the head of her agency began auctioning her off. One would think she would feel nothing but despite having being a prostitute for so many years, she still hated the lustful and perverted looks men gave her. Still, she smiled and talked sweetly, introducing herself. In her heart, she hoped and prayed dearly that her new owner would be at least young if not kind.

"96,000 for the girl!" shouted one man. Sable searched through the crowd and saw an old man around the age of 50 raising his hands with a disgusting smile plastered onto his face. Sable's hopes for a young owner was immediately dashed when no one tried raise the bid.

The auctioneer shouted, asking for any higher bidder. "Going once! Going twice!" before she could say the famous line of 'sold to the man with his hand raised!', there was a buzz among the crowd. A man completely cloaked in black, from his hat down to his gloved hands and further down to his well-polished shoes, emerged out from the crowd. Ignoring protests of the guards, he walked up the stage towards the auctioneer, his head held low.

Sable took a step back and so did the auctioneer. His presence was somewhat overwhelming and nerve wrecking. When he was only inches apart from us, he snatched the small microphone away from the auctioneer. He placed it near to his lips and whispered in a deep and amused voice, "One million…"

Instantly, both his hands reached into his pockets, pulled out a fistful of cash, and threw it at the auctioneer. Money flew into the air and floated down onto the stage floor. Everyone gasped and stared at him. He continued, "If anyone wants to raise the bid, be my guest. But I don't think any of you are willing to pay so much just for a mere prostitute to fulfill your pathetic lustful fantasies."

Indeed, he was true and no one moved. He interested her and she was anxious upon seeing his face, which was cleverly covered by the brim of his black hat. He leaned closer and said softly but enough for both of us to hear, "There's lots more where that comes from. I'll have my men bring you the money once this auction is over."

After that, he just grabbed hold of her hand and roughly tugged her along with his. In a blur, she stumbled and ran, trying to catch up with his speed and caught a glimpse of his red, red lips. For a moment, she wondered whether he was even human at all. Once outside of the building, by the roadside, he finally stopped. Sable panted and knelt down from exhaustion, shivering from the cold wind, as she was still unclothed.

The man looked down at her. Silently, he shrugged off his coat revealing his white satin buttoned up long sleeved shirt and carelessly draped his coat over her shoulders. Sable looked up at him then blushed, muttering a word of thanks, not used to being treated kindly in that way.

"I can't believe you ended up like this." Then man said. Before Sable could ask him what he meant, a white sports car pulled up in front of them. The driver was rather queer looking too – with unruly flaring red hair and purple eyes that was hidden beneath a pair of frameless spectacles. Her new master opened the door and ushered her to enter to the backseat. He then greeted the driver before hopping into the front seat.

When they finally started to move, the driver turned around and gave her a warm smile, "I'm Luther. Nice to meet you."

"I uh… I'm Sable. Nice to uh… meet you too." Sable stuttered, not knowing how to react. Taking in a deep breath of the dusty air, she looked to her side where everything past by in a flurry. The sky was dark – it was night – but there's not even a trace of stars. She had seen stars before in pictures and films. They look gorgeous, she had thought, like diamonds in the sky.

The car continued to speed but came to a sudden halt. Sable, who was falling asleep from the long hours of driving, opened her eyes. Guards and police officers in their grey, green and white uniforms were all around them. She quickly sat up straight and stared ahead. She was at the 'Fence'.

In every country, each city is literally separated into two halves. The fence represents a border that cannot be crossed. The main purpose of the fence and all those guards was to avoid the poor to enter the rich territory. All must stay in their own territory for 'safety reasons'.

The poor will never be able to enter the territory of the elite and those who do must enter protected. For an elite to enter the land of poverty however, they must have a license.

The reason for all these precautions and the separation was purely that it was just too dangerous for the rich to be living side by side to the poor who are so desperately trying to survive. The rich govern the land with their power and manipulation. They despise the poor and could not bear to be in the presence of 'pathetic animals'.

The poor, in return, also had the same equal hatred towards the elite. When an elite enters their territory unprotected, they would be kill in just a moment notice.

To put it plainly, it is a dog eat dog world. And the image was like a simple painting, with a line drawn across the middle. One side would be painted white, and the other black.

Sable held her breath as the guard went up to her and asked her for her ID. She handed him hers and he raised an eyebrow. He turned to look at Kendrick who nodded his head back. The guard gave back Sable her ID card and while he was turning away, he shot her a despicable glance. Sable's heart twisted for a moment and she quickly put up a nonchalant front. Yes, she was a prostitute, but she damn well still needed her pride - no matter how small or little there was left of it…

(White Zone)

Sable's heart slammed against her chest and she could practically hear it like a ferocious thunder during a stormy night as she stood in the hall of the mansion. You've got to be kidding me… this is were I'm going to live?! She asked herself, not believing her eyes.

"What are you waiting for? Follow me." Her master asked. He turned around, and started walking in long strides. After much great effort, Sable caught up with him and he opened the door to one of the many rooms in the mansion, revealing a large and beautiful yet simple decorated room. "This is you room. There are some clothes in the cupboard over there. I suggest you put on some clothes while I'm gone. Clearly you haven't brought any clothes with you and I don't want you running about in just your lingerie."

When Sable nodded in understanding, he started to walk away. Spontaneously, Sable called out to him, "I haven't gotten to know you name yet!"

The man raised his hand and shouted back, "You already know it! Go and change now!"

Speechless and puzzled by his nonsensical words, she silently closed her bedroom door. A small smile escaped her lips as she sat down on her soft springy bed after putting on a flowery dress. On the table by the bedside, laid a photograph in a metal frame. Wondering whether it was her new master's family she went to take a look.

Smiling in the picture was of course her master. Now that she had a good look at him, she almost dropped the photograph onto the floor. He was pale, almost white with intense emerald eyes and red lips that reminded her of blood. But that was not the most shocking and bewildering thing yet. It was the small printed date, dated 10th October 2008, at a corner of the photograph. 992 years ago?!

Her eyes continued slowly scanning every detail in the photograph. Next to her master was the driver from just now. His eyes held that softness that she had saw a moment ago and the same slightly crooked smile. Her eyes fell onto a girl around her age, maybe slightly older, which she had not seen before. Her hair was golden like the sun with large brown eyes that held a glint of mischievousness. She was gorgeous and adorable.

Lastly, she averted her upmost and full attention to another girl standing beside the blonde. This time, she really did drop the photograph onto the floor and the glass cover shattered. Carefully, she picked up the photo amidst the broken glass and metal frame and stared closely. The girl looked exactly like her. She did not really notice it just now because instead of having long wavy hair like hers that went down to her waist, she had hair only up to her shoulders. The girl's eyes were sad and her shoulders sagged with heaviness although she was smiling. Even her smile looked burdened and sad.

Gently, Sable touched the picture with her fingertips. The longer she looked at herself, then at the overall picture, the more she felt as if she remembered doing something like this a long time ago – as if the memory was being buried deep in her memories. Get real, Sabe! It's dated close to a thousand years back! It's impossible! You've never met these guys before! She mentally scolded herself.

However, Sable's heart told her quite the opposite. Their names, somehow she could feel the names of the people in the photograph at the tip of her tongue although she just could not quite get it. Even the name 'Luther' suddenly felt familiar to her tongue and lips. Sable forced herself to stare at the blonde girl having a stupid idea that she might actually figure out the girl's name if she stared long enough. "Starts with an 'S'. Her name starts with an 'S'. Samantha? No… that's not it… Sapphire? No… what is her name?" Sable muttered.

Then, the name hit her. She did not know why she thought up of this strange name or where did she heard it from. She did not know why she could feel so sure that this name belonged to the blonde girl's. She just knew it.

In perfect timing, the door burst opened revealing the blonde girl from the photo who came running towards her. Upon seeing the girl in person, Sable's lips acted on their own and shouted the blonde girl's name, "Saphira!" Sable blinked in surprised, more at herself for saying the name than the blonde girl who lunged herself at Sable.

"Oh my god… You remembered my name! You damn bloody well remembered my name!" the girl squealed in delight.

Sable tried to push the girl away. "Sorry, I don't know why but I thought of that when I saw you. Could you please get off me? I can't breathe!"

Sable gasped for air when the blonde finally let go of her. Her head shot up when she heard more voices and saw her master and Luther entering her room. This time, her master was only wearing a t-shirt and pants and good god, he looks far more frightening than he did in the picture.

"M-master." She greeted. The blonde, or rather, Saphira, stared at Sable in aghast. "Don't call him master! How can you call him master?"

This girl is nuts. Sable thought as Saphira continued, "No, no. this is wrong. You are his master. You are our master! How can you say that he's your master?"

Sable frowned at the girl in front of her. Something was definitely wrong. This was not what she had planned things to be.

"Shut up, Saph." Her master's voice echoed through the room and the blonde immediately shut her mouth, although she sent a glare at him. He pushed passed Saphira and walked towards Sable. Standing before her looking inhuman and intimidating made her felt like cowering back into the corner of the room. His eyes shifted to the photograph in her hands. "I see. So you've finally seen the photo. No wonder you could remember Saph's name." he looked down at the photo frame and then at the broken pieces of glass. "And it seems that it did not go too well when you saw yourself in that picture dated 992 years ago."

Sable tried to laugh off the tension in the room when all three pairs of eyes locked onto her. "I don't know what you mean. I mean, that's not me in that photo! It must be some coincidence… it's impossible!"

Her inhuman looking master shook his head. "That is you. You are her. The one and the same."

Suddenly feeling angry at her confusion, Sable stood up. "You are insane… all of you are insane! What's your purpose for buying me because clearly you're not after my body but something much more from me! What is it that you want!?"

"It's true. We need something more than you body. We need you for something vital regarding the fate of the whole universe…" he said in a calm voice, which irritated her even more.

"Now you're just talking shit. Do you want me as some bloody lab rat for our country's top secret- whatever it is called which uses human bodies as part of their experiments!" her voice rose several pitches as she spoke.

Her master sighed. He took another step and then another, closing the gap between him and her. Sable fell onto her bed and her master pushed her down with his hand. "What are you doing!?" she screamed as he placed a hand over her forehead and eyes.

"Don't worry. Relax. When you wake up, you'll understand everything…"

A sudden pain coursed through her veins and Sable started to twist and turn in agony. "It hurts! It hurts! What are you doing to me? Some-something's wrong with me!" Slowly, darkness enveloped her sight and mind as her body went limp, and her mind fell into darkness so deep that it almost seemed impossible to climb out of…
