Playground school bell rings, again
Rain clouds come to play, again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
"well I got to go, I'll see you on Monday" Hayley said to him before giving him a quick hug as she pulled away he pulled her back and gave her a giant bear hug lifting her off the ground.
"Have a good weekend shortie" Cal said burring his head into her shoulder quickly before letting her go.
"Shortie? Cheek! I'm taller than Anna and Matt and Jon and many others" Hayley said glaring up at Cal.
"You're shorter than me by a foot!" Cal exclaimed.
"Well we can't all be six foot whatever" Hayley said crossing her arms looking sulky.
Cal chuckled and pressed a quick kiss on Hayley's forehead "bye Hales, I'll see you on Monday"
"Bye, bye" Hayley called over her shoulder as she walked down the road while he turned to go down the opposite direction.
It was roughly eight o clock at night when someone was banging on his front door, he sighed when it had become inevitable that no one else was going to answer the door and he went down to answer it, cursing his family each step. He yanked the door open to see Anna looking breathless.
"Hayley's missing" she got out in between pants.
"What do you mean missing, has she gone off again?" Cal demanded "she was fine when I said bye to her this afternoon"
"She didn't come home" Anna said "according to her Mum, Hayley hasn't been seen since school, she hasn't said anything to you has she?"
"No she was just being Hayley" Cal said shrugging.
Anna slapped him in the back of the head "idiot!" she hissed "remember the last time you thought she was just being Hayley? Turned out you didn't know her at all"
He hated to be reminded that, seeing Hayley's prone body in the hospital bed and her 'ghost' crying was something that will forever haunt him.
"We got a search party going on" Anna said "you're coming?"
"Just let me get my jacket" Cal said before legging it up a fast as he could to his room.
Hello, I'm your mind
Giving you someone to talk to - Hello
Anna and Cal were wandering through the streets shouting Hayley's name when they saw Lydia and Matt running up to them.
"Have you found anything?" Anna asked looking hopeful.
"Sorry hon." Matt said "we just got a call from Hannah apparently the police have a clue on what might have happened to Hayley"
"What?" Anna asked biting her lip.
"Last week Hayley's Dad got a text from his...ex...Threatening Hayley, they think she has her"
"Oh god" Anna actually looked a bit green; Matt pulled her into a hug.
"They'll find her, they'll find her" he said soothingly.
Lydia was on her mobile trying to calm by the sounds of it Sandie. No one was bothering to comfort him, though Hayley was his best friend as well, someone he cared about. He wanted to tear out whoever it was that has Hayley throat out, instead he settled for punching the wall beside him.
If I smile and don't believe
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken!
Two days and they still haven't found Hayley, Cal was getting anxious and probably a bit obsessed he noticed that every time he tries to draw something he just ends up with Hayley, he even colours her eyes in their perfect emerald green and they just seemed to sparkle Hayley's mischief.
He decided this was all a nightmare that Hayley was completely and utterly fine and he'll see her on Monday like he told her on Friday. He wants that so much, he wants Hayley to be fine.
Hello, I am the lie
living for you so you can hide
don't cry
It was Monday and the day went painfully slow because she wasn't there. She was his partner for the Theatre Studies project and now the teacher was subtly suggesting he would work with someone else since Hayley isn't around. He can't give up on hope, Hayley has to be fine, and she has to be coming home soon. Soon everything began to be too much for him, everyone's sympathetic gazes and asking if he heard anything about Hayley yet. The moment the bell rang he marched out growling at the year sevens who squealed and ran away as he stormed off. He found himself at a park, not just any park but the one he and Hayley sat together when she was that ghost, part of him was hoping that he'll find her on the swings again.
What he saw was not what he wanted.
There lying on the floor.
Hayley.
He began to run to her, he falls to his knees and he begins to shake her. "Hales, Hales wake up, please wake up" she isn't breathing.
She isn't breathing.
She isn't breathing.
She isn't breathing.
But she has a pulse.
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello, I'm still here,
All that's left of yesterday.
