Queen of Nothing

Queen of Nothing

She reigns the kingdom of desire

A crown of ivy atop her head.

Acid rain falls from the broken clouds,

which sing their song of newfound faith

Reveling in the glory of their own hate

She reigns her kingdom of fear

A ruby brooch against her throat

Her subjects kneeling at her feet

Masquerading their fa├žade of loyalty

And love for their ruler

Their queen of false serenity

She reigns, locked tight in chains

She burns slowly at the stake

Of her sense of security

Intertwining her choice with destiny's

The epitome of parody

Her majesty, the queen of solidarity
