I stood outside my closet, searching for something to wear tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be the first day of 8th grade. Yay! I grinned and pulled out a torn up, plaid shirt.

"No." I shook my head and threw it in the trash.

I sighed and collapsed on my bed. My phone rang and I reached over towards my desk to grab it.

"Hello?" I said with a bored voice.

"Kelly!" My mood immediately brightened. It was my best friend, Sydney. She would always be there for me. Or so I thought.

"Hey Sydney! What's up?" I stood up and went through my piles of clothes again.

"Ah, nothing. Just bored. You?"

I reached in a pile and touched something sticky. I jumped back and slowly walked to my bathroom.

"Mm. I'm just looking for an outfit for tomorrow." I said, turning on my sink and washing my hands.

A shriek came from the phone and I dropped it on the ground.

"Shit." I muttered. Okay, I don't really cuss often but sometimes I just forget you know? Don't blame me.

I wiped my wet hands on my shorts (our towels are dirty, okay?) and picked up my phone. I inspected my phone for scratches. Nope. Thank god.

"...thanks so much for reminding me Kell! Love ya, bye!" Click.

"No problem. Call me anytime. Love ya too." I said to the dead phone and hung up.

I sat up on my bed and glanced at my alarm clock. 6:13 A.M.

Time to get ready for school. I yawned and walked over to my messy closet. A certain clothing article caught my eye. Well, articles. They were all in a big mess. I leaned into the back of the closet and pulled out my purple t-shirt with a funky design on it, jean mini-skirt, and white leggings (ha, you thought I was going to wear just a mini-skirt didn't ya? I'm not a slut okay?). I smiled and found my perfect outfit. I skipped into my bathroom and took a nice 10-15 minute shower. I blow dried my hair and changed into my outfit. Perfect. I grabbed a brush and brushed my messy hair. It took me about 10 minutes. Hey, not my fault I have thick, black hair. Psh.

"Kelly, get down here!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

I rolled my eyes and shouted, "Coming."

I set the brush down and jogged down the stairs. My mom was in the kitchen making some coffee. She smiled at me and returned her gaze to the television. I sat down in the chair and ate the cereal on the table. A few minutes passed and I finished my cereal. I looked at the clock and it read 7:14 A.M.

"Let's go." My mom said and walked towards the garage. You could say my mom isn't really a 'morning person'.

I stopped at the laundry room to get my black flats. I grabbed my backpack and ran towards the honking horn. Five minutes later, we arrived. We live near my school just so you know. I said goodbye to my mom and hopped outside. Ah, middle school. I watched all the little sixth graders running around everywhere, fearing that they would be late for their class, which didn't start for another 15 minutes. I walked towards room number two, where my history class was. Oh, I just love history. So fun to learn. No, that wasn't sarcasm silly. I climbed up the steps to my class and sat on the bench in front of it. I was the first one here. Well, the first one at my class. There were tons of little sixth graders over at room number three and four. Many looked my way and I gave them a fake, wide grin. Haha. And they looked away in embarrassment. I rolled my eyes. Okay, sorry I'm being a little mean.

"Kell!" A cheerful voice shouted. I looked towards my left (and so did the sixth graders, god why can't they mind their own business?) and saw Sydney running towards me. I grinned and stood up, right before she attacked me.

I chuckled and said, "Hey, Syd. Excited?" We pulled away from our little hug and she smiled.

"Yup!" She chirped and I rolled my eyes. Same old Sydney.

We sat down and a short silence passed before Sydney broke it.

"So...how was your summer?" She asked, trying to bring up a conversation.

"Boring. You were gone all summer, and you never called me, so I had nothing to do." I sighed.

"Oh, sorry. Mine was great!"

"Awesome." I rolled my eyes.

"I know!" Jeez, that was sarcasm! Ugh.

The bell rang after that Sydney and I waited outside our first class.

"This is going to be a great year." I said, and sighed.

"Yeah." Sydney sighed also.

Well, that's what I thought until they became a part of my life.

A/N: Okay, I decided I didn't like the new name changes, so I reverted them back to everyone's old names. xD Anyways, so yeah. And please review!
