strawberry milkshake on a summer day
sipped on a glimpse of sun
that seeped into cracks between your silhouette
through the edges of the world. "this tastes so
sweet" i say, suddenly. serendipity becomes
a sylph and i drink her through my straw. still slipped
in sub-conscious i spy your sugary outline,
a halo shade all stained sepia. sadly last, as i try to touch a
trickle of you turns quick in a whirl of water,
disappears forever, swings by torrents of time,
dissolves in a twisting tide of tears
that were torn from my eyes.
