Won't you play me a song

To make the time go faster?

And chase my shadows away

In the dark getting closer

And how can you get any tune

Out of your old scuffed acoustic?

Must've seen about a million sunsets

But it still sings your song when you use it

"Because anything's better than sitting in silence"

(Though even the silence sounds better with you)

"So play one more song, I don't have to get home yet"

(Just give me some time to find another excuse)

I'm not sure if you know

You always smile when you're playing

It's sometimes hard to listen to you singing

Because I wish I could believe what you're saying

So when you're writing the words

What's your inspiration?

It makes me hope to hear all of your lyrics

Because I find myself in lines that you've written

"Because anything's better than sitting in silence"

(Though even the silence sounds better with you)

"So play one more song, I don't have to get home yet"

(Just give me some time to find another excuse)

"Because anything's better than sitting in silence"

(Though even the silence sounds better with you)

"So play one more song, I don't have to get home yet"

(Just give me some time to find another excuse)

Please play me a song until the night kills your tune

Please play me a song until the night kills your tune

This is a song I wrote for my band, about a girl who loves to listen to this guy she secretly likes play guitar for her. In the choruses, the lines in speech marks are what she says to him and the lines in brackets are what she is really thinking.

Review please? :)
