A.N.: I've always wondered why so many songs had the line wish you were here but no song at all had a line contradicting that (not that I know), so I decided to write about that. Of course it didn't come out the way I expected (like all my poems).

Tell me what you think of it.

I wish you weren't here

There's so much venom in your tone

Saying so many words that I fear

But you don't leave me alone

You eyes seem so cold

Your threat is so clear

And your pose is too bold

I wish I weren't here

I can't stand your tone

Without remembering my fear

But I just can't be alone

I wish I weren't here

My heart is breaking

Your threat is all I hear

And I'm shaking

I wish we weren't here

We're both too scared

But I'm the only one in tears

And you don't seem to care

I wish we weren't here

With all these hateful feelings

Losing everything we've held dear

And the moments we should be living
