The Element Ice

To the element ice,

Food doesn't suffice,

She must feed on life,

On misery and strife.

She creeps upon fire,

And chokes off her air,

Leaving no trace,

Of her beautiful flare.

She preys on the earth,

And freezes her leaves,

Killing all life,

While summertime grieves.

She sneaks up on air,

And turns her so cold,

Possessing her spirit,

And owning her soul.

Then she finds water,

That fickle young maid,

And corrupts her to ice,

Her servant she's made.
