100 Theme Romance Challenge #95Notes
I love you.
She wrote on the single strip of paper.
But the words didn't seem right,
Scrawled on, in her messy hand.
I love you.
He wrote on the single strip of paper.
But the words didn't seem right,
Scrawled on, in his messy hand.
She saw his head in a book,
Silent at the library, eyes fixated.
Transfixed, she was, the way he sat.
Shoulders forward, head down.
He sat, silently aware,
Of her gliding form around him.
He knew she watched him,
And he quivered in excitement.
'I love you' he read aloud,
Nodding his head along to the words.
Realising the truth that lay behind them,
Knowing how much they meant.
She heard his velvet voice speak,
Saying three words that made her stop.
'I love you too' she told him, willing his eyes upward.
And then did she realise the truth behind the words.
She took a seat opposite him,
Looking into his deep green eyes.
She wrote on a slither of paper;
I love you.
And it was true.
