Left alone to these frail, wandering thoughts,
shining strong and beautiful like a delicate flower
as it blooms, all alone, in the moonlight,
the lilting melody of a sorrowful last hope lingers.
"In this memory, I hear you calling to me."
The seasons creep on by without a second thought;
desires for a feeling, long absent, remain
and in the lonely void you left behind, they flourish.
If I had the wings of a bird, my love,
then doubtlessly, I'd hopelessly follow you to the awaiting eternity;
this strain of thoughts and fears is relentless,
and it consumes every happy moment from the memory
til all that remains is a tearful departure.
Like in a long lost memory, gloomy and dismal,
cold rain pours down over my aching, broken heart.
The haze of the emotion is a vague reminder
of a path that we can never return from.

That same rain from our fearful nightmares,
the tears that fall from the sky above-
so much of this false happiness has been washed away.
Your voice, like a soothing song to a frightened child,
it calmed the storms of this lonely heart
and I can almost feel the sunlight on my face as on that day.
