FAMILY PAST
My brothers an I, we used to play We would run and prance Just to enjoy the day,
We had weapons like a sword and a lance
Around the blocks we all went On our bikes and our many wheels.
Until dinner is here we were sent And had to go eat our meals.
In the summer, the pool called our name Swimming like fish, needing little air.
But like wild animals, we never were forced to tame.
Back then though we hardly seemed to care.
In the autumn, piles of fresh leaves,
Higher than the mountains in the sky Lots of fun we receive The sweet smell of summer saying goodbye.
Daring, winter snowballs were thrown Big, bulky and extremely cold.
Making ice forts we were shown Climbing snow covered trees, we were bold.
Through all the seasons, we grow old Going different ways now, I guess it shows,
Now that we are separate we are of a different mold How the future changed so fast, no one knows.
Being adults, we cling to our past It is what made us who we are Now it seems like it will never last Growing old, living long, we have gone very far
Separate and yet the same We have many adventures Many of which I will forever be able to name Once kids with energy, now old people with dentures.
